Track Info: Rockford Speedway - A historical .29167 mile asphalt oval with a limestone base. Corners are banked at 22 degrees and are 50 ft wide with a roller coaster effect. Straights are banked at 8 degrees and are 40 ft wide.
Track History: Rockford Speedway is located just seven miles north of Rockford, IL in Loves Park, IL. Rockford Speedway is Northern Illinois’ longest running sports and entertainment venue.
Since the inaugural season in 1948, the high-banked quarter mile oval has been tabbed as “Mid-America’s Finest Racetrack.” Rich in racing tradition, this reputation has been well earned through hosting major events like the granddaddy of all short track post season events, the National Short Track Championships.
This prestigious event has helped launch the careers of the NASCAR stars such as Mark Martin, Dick Trickle, Alan Kulwicki, Ted Musgrave, Rusty Wallace, Rich Bickle, Greg Biffle, Matt Kenseth, Travis Kvapil, Jamie McMurray, Todd Kluever, Erik Darnell, and Scott Wimmer.
The racing is sanctioned by the National Association of Stock Car Racing, NASCAR. Rockford Speedway participates in the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series. The divisions that compete at the Rockford Speedway includes: Late Model, Sportsman, American Short Trackers, Road Runners, Hornets, Bandits, Winged Women on Wheels and Figure 8’s. The track also hosts many different touring series including: ARCA Midwest Tour, Big 8 late Model Series, Mid-American Stock Car Series, Illini Racing Series Midgets, Super Cups and more.
Focused on entertaining the fans, Rockford Speedway’s family-oriented racing schedule is nationally known for its innovative events like the ‘Original Trailer Race of Destruction,’ ‘World Famous Figure 8 Trailer Race’ and ‘Night of Thrills.’ The Speedway also welcomes nationally-known monster trucks like Tail Gator, Devastator and Mechanical Mischief along with Doug Rose and his world famous Green Mamba Jet Car.
The Speedway is a quarter-mile, high-banked, asphalt race track with fan-friendly grandstand seating on both sides. The facility has been used for circuses, concerts, car shows, sporting events, swap meets, outdoor sales and numerous community fundraising events.

@@jessd3201 0h shit you changed your youtube name. My wife replaced the heater core on it, was 12 hour job. I had the trans rebuilt. Cost me 2k. Was my first time driving on an oval

Seriously, where else can you see a Subaru racing a paint truck? This is awesome! EDIT That was great to see the street car against the race car at the end. He did a good job of staying with it.
Could actually make this a regular thing for Spec Drags: Winner races an actual Rockford racecar for three laps, Spec wins some additional money or something if they're victorious (without spinning/crashing shenanigans against the racecar or spec car.) That'd be pretty awesome to watch, albeit might get even more special-built vehicles out on Spec Drag night.

rockford speedway kicks ass! I need to make a trip up there one of these days. I always love driving through Rockford on need for speed. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Chris left some on the table. If his lines were wider and he carried more speed, he might have even beaten the late model. That was a really solid car and a good driver.

Yeah should've went higher then dipped down into the tuns would have a lot more speed he does not know how to drive,but he had fun that is all that matters.If someone weighed 140 or so may of beaten the late model.That driver was pushing 300 lbs.

awesome experience for the subaru racing the dirt track car I'm sure. If I was him I would have been a little hesitant of how much I pushed my car especially with how close they got in that 1st time around.

A race car that was designed to race on dirt. A Late Model race car set up for asphalt would have lapped him.

Wow!!!! The subu vs the race car was a the best race. I imagine the race car was on slicks and took a few laps to warm up the tires. If it were from a standing start or reverse track the subu would have had a better chance for the win. Either way I was impressed with the subu.

How about all and any awd cars gotta automatically give one car length on the start, and while im thinking, how about any and all fwds get a half car length advantage when matched against a rwd
Somebody has to tell the MC to stop with the the whole “wwwwwwwATCH the starter” thing. It sounds like he’s trying to start the race.

How disappointing this is surely the worst turnout for this event ever. I was happy to see the 2021 event pop up on KZread. I have enjoyed several events from here. I don't know what happened. It made me sad.
How did the Subaru win? He is a brake rider. The guy couldn't go a few feet without tapping the brakes. I could beat him easily
That damn STI is impressive af. It took a purpose built car to beat it! That Subaru would demolish that circle track car in almost any scenario imaginable.

i feel like that Subaru is just cheating. its just straight up a racecar. feels alil unfair.
Does the commentator own the track??? Why in the world would they keep him? Absolutely the most annoying and obnoxious commentator I've ever heard. And the whole "watch the starter " crap is confusing to the drivers. Please get someone else so we can watch these videos with volume up

AWD is good for launching but good suspension will get you much farther, even more so in a 3 lap race.
