It's funny how misunderstood the lower elos are by most players. Everyone says Iron / Bronze is bad and objectively that is true. If you are platinum and playing in bronze, you shouldn't have any issues completely stomping the game right, but in the same sentence people almost always are surprised by the level of players that play in the lower elos. They expect them to be in capable of farming, buying wrong items, no knowledge on what a tower is etc. It's weird how the community perception always appears to make them out to be basically bots. Iron and Bronze are like people who only play with blinders on. It's if league was played with no map and your allies were invisible. People make the wildest decisions from "normal" gameplay but they're never really as bad as people believe them to be. The skill floor on League as a whole as risen so much over the years that it's actually rare imo seeing people with truly no knowledge at all. Sure they often don't know match ups or often might tower dive when they shouldn't, often won't respect gank timers or even have the slightest idea of macro and tempo, but actually piloting champions and playing in a lane is typically not that bad. There are a million and one mechanics in league so of course they don't know everything, but I really think they're never as bad as people make it out. Just simply newer players or players that don't want to spend time studying the game and instead just wanna go in and click some champions and have fun.

I have iron and bronze friends. Even all the way up to bronze one. They are incapable of farming, buy the wrong items, and have no knowledge of what a tower is. If your plat friends have told you they were shocked by bronze plays it's because it was a play in the middle of a whole game of horrible decisions and misclicks.

It's because like 8 years ago and earlier, it was true, most people in bronze 4-3 looked like they weren't even familiar with mouse and keyboard, or were mentally challenged (like actually, not as a joke). You would watch an iron game and most people wouldn't know how to move properly let alone kite or flash away from charged abilities. Times have changed, pretty much every living person in NA is at least fairly proficient with mouse/keyboard, and its not like 2013-2015 when league was a huge cultural phenomenon and everyone was trying it out, even people who didn't "get it" at all. Nowadays the playerbase is almost all veterans. Even the people you see in iron, who play really bad; a lot of them have been playing for years and years. Their mechanics, clicking ability, all improve to an extent, but they don't get that qualitative gameplay/gamesense change for whatever reason

The other commenter mentions having a different experience so maybe it's dependant on where in the world you are, but I can say for at least EUW, even the iron / bronze players are better than the beginner bots despite the community seeming to believe otherwise.

I swear bronze V players at that time were special. Random building because you had no recommendation, only pushing last hitting was optional, if an enemy was in range fight him, never dodge, always stay in your lane, never going back with recall. The worst part is that these players weren’t even lagging, people lagging but with a brain were bronze II/III but bronze V was even more special

How you supposed to climb now? I played 2 years ago, got to Gold, and now I feel so dang bad stuck in Iron 1. Like, how do people know when to flash dodge my Hec ult at point blank range? Or when I'm about to gank? They didn't used to know that and basically inted to turret constantly as bronze. It feels like the skill floor went way up and now my "Gold" is barely bronze. Also constant level 50s in every game were plat/emerald last season and I'm getting destroyed.

i feel this braum's pain. it's becouse of clueless ADCs like that tristana, that never follow up on any play, that i gave up playing support. Great content btw. would love watch more of these!

I’m low bronze and went down to iron 4 at start, I was able to carry games and get back into bronze but the shit I saw irons do was absolutely nuts. I still see them duo games with bronzes but they usually run it down or do unthinkable things

I finished iron 4 last split, and got placed in iron 3 in placements this split. Am now bronze 2 with a 65% wr. Yeah, jungle is hard is all I'll say, better to just switch to ANYTHING else(for low elo at least)

@@capitatv Higher elo players say that jungle is the most OP role(maybe alongside supp). But games drag on for so long in lower elo, and no one plays around you as a jungler so it just feels so bad tbh. Also I'm bad, but still, mid/top/bot and even supp are all waaay easier.

That Veigar just casually strolling to bot when Warwick ripping him inside out got me good.

Playing iron games is also INCREDIBLE, I have been doing it for 5 years!

So glad about the recommended items. So many games as a support main I would get an ADC that builds Runaan’s as their first item, and of course they end up flaming me when they die whilst trying to get kills, while they do as much damage as a minion wave.

Hmmm. I like getting Runaan's first on Jinx, Trist, and Teemo because my wave clear is so awesome. Not looking for kills early. I'm looking to kill every minion, and I figure the faster I do that the faster I hard win on CS alone, especially if I don't die. Like all the waves I could have killed but didn't because I didn't have Runaan's are a waste. But what do I know? I'm Iron 3 right now.

As a yuumi otp I can tell you once I drop below like high plat I go all the way down to silver or sometimes bronze. The ADCs at low plat are coinflip either know how to flank and make plays or are afk under turret because yuumi for 35 mins straight even after laning phase... below low plat it gets even worse. No matter how good you play on yuumi they just never collect the freekills. literally every game my adc lets slip like 4-5 free kills in lane alone. Normally my tactic is to burn flashes or first blood on level 1 because up until emerald a lot of the times ppl don't even flash and since with yuumi you got 1 more summoner you win every level 1 for free if the enemies are as dumb as underestimating yuumi and just running at you. But that doesn't help. Once my gold adc got 2:0 he defaults to play super passive with yuumi and drop even farm instead of zoning the enemies xD. All hope is lost in climbing and I abandon the account when I drop below plat.

God i love iron spectates, i so unhinged yet so beautiful, nobody cares about what they are doing, i miss it after playing 10 years league and reaching master, idk it feels so refreshing seeing gameplay like this

I like this type of video. Huge fan of getting to be reminded of what most of us went through when starting our League journey all the way back when. I'm thrilled to hear that the commentating is respectful for the most part. League community can always use a bit of positivity (The plain rude people in the comments for example). As for me I just love the rawness, the fun. The fact that these guys have lots to learn and yet, somehow, they're having more fun out on the rift than most of us

As someone who one tricks Garen support in low iron, I can tell you that it's the best place to actually have fun in the game. Everyone in that elo is either a smurf, a troll or just really bad and leads to all sorts of crazy shenanigans. I can't go back to actually trying anymore.

The player base has gotten better. There are so many resources for new and casual players to access, even Iron can demonstrate some sophistication and good decision making.

So damn nostalgic man... I remember being once a complete bot like them as well... I still remember my first ranked game it was an alistar one i was autofilled support

as an iron support player, I can say that every game is a coin flip, for me its all about wether I get competent team mates or not or which team has the plat+ smurf in it... crazy shit happens, feeders, trolls, the worst of the toxic sludge... since I don't play hyper carries (unless I play jungle which is my backup role) I might be stuck here for ever.

We have: track pad, internet cafe player, the 3rd "Smurf account" of a silver player, someone's 7 year old cousin, and our shining star just going in for promos.

Legit a really entertaining game to watch. But it's an exception. Most bronze iron games makes me want to tear my hair out. But in this game there are legitimate beginners couple of bad and couple of good players

As a silver 2 player. It's harder to go backwards to iron 1 than it is to get to emerald 1. Trust me, I've done it 2 seasons in a row and it took me so long to do it without getting banned. The later 2 years to go upward to emerald was a breeze. Respect to Iron 1 players.

I really hope you keep making these videos, I love watching iron games. It might sound mean, but watching iron players just like be iron and do random things that are so unpredictable and it's always hilarious. good shit

If you think about this in terms of the Dreyfus Model for Skill Acquisition, you're seeing advanced beginners all around: they play well during the formulaic, familiar early game, and then increasingly fall apart the longer and more variable the game goes.

Brings me back to the old StarCraft Bronze League Heroes days. I've always said that eSports events should totally commentate a few random bottom-rank matches just for fun, I honestly find them more engaging than pro play because you just never know what to expect. Shame League replays don't have chat, watching the BM was always one of the best parts of those StarCraft videos.

I NEVER saw an equal matchmaking until now, during my placment matches i had several ember and diamond enemies but most were gold, this continued in my iron matches too, one of the main reasons i quit regular LoL. In non ranked matches this was even more rediculous, one time there was a master player, i had to google because i didn't know what his symbol was.

iron games have been some of the most entertaining I've watched, this one is high on that list. MF/Velkoz combo put out a lot of useful ults for red, and that Sion was just out of his mind.

As a braum player myself, a braum would never flame someone for not going in on an unpinged engage. The only time a braum player would flame you is if you're focusing the unmarked champ instead of the marked one.

The ranking is a relative scale. You have not to be bad to be in iron, you have to be more bad than others. This is why I love low elo. You never know what kind of things you’ll see.

I truly hope you keep up with these commentaries of Iron games. I will say, that for the sake of your sanity, you should probably start using the player hotkeys. By default, pressing 1 will direct your camera to the blue side top laner, pressing 2 will direct your camera to the blue side jungler, and so on. For red side, I think its Q, W, E, R, and T, but you can change the camera control hotkeys in the settings menu regardless.

Actually braum is half decent build.. he got cheap magic resist spirit visage into velkoz fizz and rumble, and a deadmans plate to catch people.

if sion just stopped ulting into every fight and solo inting the game could have had a different outcome

as a bronze, watching irons is very inspiring
