Specific Handball Warm Up Flow - Handballtraining Siglev Skjern | Handball inspires

Спорт

Handball has high physical demands. A specific warm-up for the training or game is very important. Magnus Siglev shows us with the U19 of Skjern Handball a warm-up flow, which also conforms to the MAPS requirements of the DHB. He expands the typical run-in and moving through with pair exercises and mini games.

What an effective progression from general movements involving core and body activation to more sport specific requirements. Lovely great inspiration!

A lot of inspiring exercises that you can all use in a warm up! But in M.A.P.S (mobilisation, activation, potentiation and specification) it is decisive that the order of the exercises is respected by the coaches! The concept was published to have a progressive increase of loading at the beginning of a training session that the players become ready for the main part of the training session. The problem is that running and running exercises like knees up, butt kicks and so on, load the players with up to many times body weight (2-3x or more). The consequences are, if you want to follow the M.A.P.S concept, to do running exercises at the earliest in the potentiation phase or in the specification phase. In the first two phases (mobilisation and activation phase) the players should made ready for running and jumping.

Hej Marcel, very important input! These are the small difference between the countries! Instead of the discussion which should come first (mobilization/activation) for me it was important to show the potention and more the specification. Maybe I should invite David Gröger to a Handball Snack and talk with him about the MAPS :) Thanks Marcel for this important fact! First mobilisation and activation and then running! Martin
