Sorry for the longer end to the video. Just had to at least talk about what just happened a little. This was an emotional Rollercoaster of an episode. Yes, ive been saying the season can't be all positive and there were some signs but they did it so well it hits you like a truck. Also incredibly evil for them to tine this on fathers day..... Either way this is peak anime and the fact it hits our emotions so strongly means its a good show. Let me know what yall think!
it's skipped over in the anime but the first time rudy was distracted because he got caught off guard by the new attack of the hydra using its necks to attack. it broke the script they had going up until then. and then he used his demon eye to avoid the thrashing stumps but he was too close to the body and the necks were outside his field of vision. so it's because of his over-reliance on the demon eye (which he has no choice but to use because he's a glass cannon in melee range)

Thanks for the heads up! Yea I didn't get the impression of that at all from the anime so thanks for clearing that up. As you could probably tell I was kinda annoyed at Rudy for being caught lacking cause that's how the anime made it seem. Crazy episode though, and thanks for watching!
Paul was an incredible father, he didn’t even hesitate to throw himself into danger just to save his son. Nothing would make Paul happier to know that because of his sacrifice both his beloved son and wife live. I knew this was coming as a light novel reader, but it blew expectations out of the water. Probably the most phenomenal anime episode I’ve watched in years.

It has been a long time since an anime episode actually left me speechless but this did it. Going in blind I kind of saw it coming as can be seen in the video bit the way it was handled made it all the same a brutal gut punch. Paul definitely had his flaws as a family man but in the end he gave his life to protect his son and he definitely loved his family. What an outstanding story 👏
