Dancing Queen had to be their second mini album instead of Gee. But the song was also sold to the next singer and released Mercy first. So they stopped to released Dancing Queen in 2008.

To add to that, the MV that was released for Dancing Queen was the original footage shot in 2008, hence the time warp thing Yoona pressed initially in the MV. 😊

I love your reaction! SNSD was my intro to K-pop back in 2010 so this made me nostalgic 🥹 I really watched through the whole thing and glad you’ve enjoyed it! Also, since you love Forever 1 a lot, there’s also another reference lyrically during the bridge when they say “I will love you again in my next life”. It is a reference to the saying between SNSD and fans “If you are still SNSD in the next life, I will still be a Sone in the next life.” :) My favorite songs from SNSD are actually their Japanese ones! I know it’s hard to get on KZread but if you have the time on your own, you should check it out! Sooyoyng is my bias but I’m always getting bias wrecked. And! Their concert videos are amazing because they have great concert productions too!. Holiday and Oh! Are my faves for music videos 😁

And Kenzie sampled ITNW for Forever 1's bridge!! Totally get you when you started tearing up for Forever1 lol even non-Sones made it feel things. I think it was evident that the song was just a testament to their grit and passion for the group. I mean all of them have successful solo careers now, but they have never shied away from being part of SNSD. Seeing them over the years, I feel like they're actual sisters by blood. They don't have to talk or intersct all the time, but they know themselves that they have women ready to support them in their endeavours. A rare feat given the stories heard from older idols or entertainers (feeling lonely/alone in the industry). Heck, they know each others' lock codes to save them in case they're feeling down. Thank you for doing a deep dive into SNSD's MVs!! ❤️

It was supposed to be released and not gee but there was a problem with its legal rights during that time(iirc or something like that) and mercy also skyrocketed when it was released by Duffy. So, they released Gee instead.
