Spearfishing in Greece - Spearfishing Malta
This holiday was my 3rd attempt of spearfishing outside of Malta. With some help from a friend and fellow KZreadr I manage to make it a successful trip, and one to remember.

Always very painful to leave an injured fish but as you said, we have to réduce this to the minimum ❤

Cool video, some good catches. Sucks about the dentex 😢 no matter what fish, that is a bad feeling when that happens. What was going on with that grouper?!

Thanks. There could be many reasons, caught from depth and escaped/released, illegal fishing by explosives which does not kill big fish but destroys the fish buoyancy control, or possibly illness. I think the most realistic is fishing by explosives. There has been an instance as late as 2019 reported in Greece, if I remember correctly. This is the video exposing the perpetrator kzread.info/dash/bejne/k5yqysaje7fbmto.html

@@drusfishingmaltaid say exposives i caught few on rod, and they have inflated bellies when they surface, but this one looked deflated, id imagine pressure from explosives do that
