Spearfishing Hawaii Three Prong Hunting with Justin Lee

Hey guys on this episode I go spearfishing in Hawaii using the traditional light Hawaiian three prong hand spear. I use pole spears all over the world but spearfishing with these lighter spears proves to be super challenging and Justin takes me to school. We collect a bunch of fish for a wedding and I introduce you to one of my pillars to be a better spear fisherman. I hope you guys enjoy this one!

I'd love to see some more footage of your friend diving. That's so crazy watching him clean house with a 3 prong. He is a machine and so fluid in his motions. Very cool to watch.

Cool nice place, FYI for you three prong, find a good place that you are comfortable with the pull of the rubber, then get some rope and rap it around the shaft were you feel good with the pull. Maybe two or three inches more for a bigger pull for like shooting Uluas or big Kumus or Uhus. When you find your hand placement rap it then black tape it and you will never have to worry about your hand slipping again....This is an old school way of diving in old Hawaii....Good luck

Certain fish only get to certain sizes when they are harvestable. Tough as a beginner to tell but watch other people and you will figure it out!

That's why I stopped fishing from shore so frequently. I don't dive so I dont get a chance to clean my gear and seeing all those broken slide rigs on the reef just re affirm it for me the ocean doesnt need all that.
