Bananas on the boat is guaranteed bad luck ! I once took a guy out and I had chummed up hundreds of flag yellowtail behind the boat. Our baits were just falling through the school while the chum was devoured. After a couple of hours of this I gave up and suggested we eat lunch and then move. Guy pulled a BANANA! from his lunch bag. I snatch it up and threw it overboard ! The guys was stunned ! He was looking at me with a stupid look on his face. I washed the boat down with a couple of buckets of water and said a prayer. Three hours later I had topped off the fish box with 500lbs of 3-5 pound flags. They were nailing the baits just ten feet behind the boat as fast as we could unhook and rebait the hook. No bananas ever on the boat ! I won’t even touch one the day before I go fishing.
