I was born in Finland and I speak "fluent" Finnish, but your pronunciation is better than mine. I mean you have the right "melody" that is genuine Finnish. I moved to Sweden 50 years ago and I sound like a Swede when I speak Finnish. Kudos to you!

I watched this video almost a year ago, before I moved to Finland. At the time I didn't understand anything he says in this video. I wondered how it would be to understand it. Also, I wondered if I would come to know the streets he is going through, trying to imagine myself living in that environment and thinking that I would most likely end up somewhere else. Now, not only I understand his Finnish but I also recognize those streets. I biked that path from Espoo to Salmisaari many times now. Such weird feeling looking back at what my thoughts were and seeing my plan to move here come to fruition! Things are overall going better than expected.

Perfect Finnish. Amazing. I know my language and it's peculiar, but you got it so well I'm in awe. Many Finns in great jobs speak English fluently-ish like myself but Finnish is harder to master and we Finns are very subtle about it. Please, do more suomipäiväs, this was fun to watch. Thanks.

Those sayings and expressions are sometimes funny, because words often have several meanings in the other language, which completely changes the meaning. Strike(lower) the flag = Laske lippu = calculate the ticket The spruce (tree) is on fire = Kuusi palaa = number six (6) returns

I know that this is an old video, but I really need to say this: Your Finnish is AMAZING! You can obviously understand and make jokes in Finnish and the pronunciation is almost like a native speaker. I hadn't any trouble understanding you at any point at all. And well, by now you're propably very fluent in Finnish! 👌👍

I wouldn't be able to distinguish your Finnish from any other Finnish speaking person and I'm amazed at your pronounciation!

Man you speak quite well and you sound very finnish, even though some of conjugation went wrong, but that's totally understandable. You also get my full respect because this is so hard language and totally different from Anglo-Saxon. Keep on pushing it and don't be shamefaced. BTW i have few American and English acquaintances who have lived here over 20 years and STILL don't speak finnish. Sooo... :D

wow luke i must say that for someone with anglosaxon language background, your finnish is excellent in terms of accent. That is usually super hard for english talkers. You may not know all the terms yet, but that comes with time - you seem to have mastered the most hard problem already, you pronouce stuff as a finn would. I dont know how many years you needed for that, but i know people from germany and england who are more than a decade here, and theyre sometimes painful to listen to ;) not so with you.
