hunter callahan you have to realize an amps speaker outputs are high voltage low current and the amps battery power inputs are low voltage high current so the fuse ratings will be much different

I have also had two Orion Cobalt 10s on a Soundstream 1000 watt amp in my Chevy Beretta, 4 Cerwin Vega 10s in my Integra on a US Amps 250x4 but at 4000 watt amp at 1/4 ohm stable. Now, I have two Hifonics 12s, a SSL (Soundstream) 1200 watt amp at 1 ohm, Pyle mids and highs, and a touchscreen in my dash in my EK Civic coupe and they're good enough.

I remember watching this a long time ago

I had two JL Audio W-0 15" woofers in my Ford Exploder with a Cerwin Vega 2500 watt amp, a Rockford Fosgate 3 farad capacitor, and a yellowtop gel cell Optima and I could put a full Coke can on my roof and bounce that thing 10' in the air. That was on an unpowered Sony Xplod tape deck and a Sony 10 disc CD changer.

that is why i will always chose orion hcca's for my subs. they withstand a lot

Jl audio subwoofers can crave more power with clean power and as long as it doesn't bottom out also the jl audio w7 is a very expensive subwoofer compared to the jl audio w6 subwoofer

Those HCCA's can easily take 2500 watts on a daily basis. Although they can take much more over shorter bursts. Rated to handle up to 6000w in an SPL burst scenario. No wonder that thing was tough to blow up

Speedy blowouts make them smoke more cause a cold coil heats up fast when doing this. Doing it slow blackens the coil meaning when you blow it it does not smoke as it is already burned

So quick question what exactly happens to a subwoofer if you give it more rms power than what the subwoofer is rated at like for an example what happens if you feed a 800 watt rms subwoofer 2000 watts rms

It would depend on the sub and the box it's in. A good quality true 800 WRMS sub in well made box can take the 2K for a short amount of time. Sub and basically all speakers fail in one of two ways. 1. Thermal failure is when the coil gets too hot and an open circuit occurs. 2. Mechanical failure is when you exceed the Xmech and suspension parts rip apart or the coil smacks against the back or the speaker.

It hurt to see the JL blow up lol, I'm 16 about to get my first real car stereo in a few months. Just started workin and startin to save up. Gonna get some Kenwood KFC-X174s for the Front and Back along with a JL Audio MicroSub ACP112 subwoofer. Gonna cost me about $1,300 but man it'll be worth it.

Jl is great but you can get very similar bang for so much less money. Seriously try the NvX VCW 10 or 12 they are absolutely amazing and have great sound quality like a jl w6. dude you could have an amazing sounding and loud system with amplified door speakers and sub for 500 don't blow all of your money on boutique stuff

Aaron P I would choose the kicker over the alpine. Reasons being the specs, the kicker is a good bit more sensitive so it get louder with less power. I’ve had both brands before and the alpines always sounded a lil better but the kicker was always louder.
