Soy japones. Para los principiantes del espanol es demasiado dificil memorizar las conjugaciones de los verbos por lo tanto la mayoria de ellos dejan de seguir estudiandolo. Tengo 73 anos pero menos mal lo puedo manejarlo sin problema aunque no me salgan palabras de su idioma a veces. PRACTICA PRACTICA nada mas!

Soy indonesio. Para mí la pronunciación del español es muy fácil. La pronunciación del español es aproximadamente un 95% similar a la del indonesio. Por eso, para los indonesios es muy fácil memorizar el vocabulario español.

Thank you for these lessons. We don't use subjunctive much anymore in English. But I've noticed that with the imperfect subjunctive to conditional, it helps me to think of it as "If I were to ... I would..." Por ejemplo, "Si yo comiera menos, bajaría de peso."

My take away from this is that I'm glad there are a couple of different ways to express a thought in the subjunctive that still make sense to my American ear. I much prefer the first examples in the lesson. Using the conditional with the subjunctive imperfecto sounds like "I would like that this already happened" rather than "I would like it if this happens".

Mi hijo me dijo que dejara de pedirlo hacer sus tareas. Mi colega necesitaba que yo le ayudara con la planificación de las lecciones. Me encantaría que viajara a a países hispanohablantes para practicar mi español. Si tuviera más dinero y más tiempo, viajaría mucho más frequentemente.

Así que es "si [imperfecto de subjuntivo] entonces [condicional]". El "si" siempre va con el subjuntivo, y indica la condición, pero el condicional indica lo que sucedería.

Un buen vídeo aunque el tema es un poco difícil. Por eso tengo que repetirlo algunas veces, pero yo creo que vale la pena.

I’m confused on when to use hubiera tenido or tuviera or When to use hubiera sabido versus supiera. The difference in those tenses. It’s easy to mess those up.

Fortunately, you can pretty much translate these types of sentences directly between English and Spanish because the structure is the same. "Si tuviera" is "If I had" and "Si supiera" is "If I knew". "Si hubiera tenido" is "If I had had" and "Si hubiera sabido" is "If I had known".

One is past and the other is past of past.

In the example about helping answer emails, Andrea, you said both "le ayudara and lo ayudara". Can we use both le and lo? Or which one is correct?

It depends on the region. Look up "leismo" like in mexico "lo and la" are used more, where as in Spain they tend to use " le" more.
