I know how it feels. Been living here in the U.S for 9 years, but I would say my 1 to 5 years was the hardest adjustment for me because of the language barrier and lack of confidence. However, I overcome my fear and gets better and better everyday. 2019 was the year I decided that I have to improve my english and by doing so I had to associate myself with the english people. Because you really have to speak it in order to practice yourself. I started going out meet a lot of people and take my time to know the culture and aimed to be americanized. Trust me it helps a lot! Knowing the culture is very important because you also want to know how to talk to them for a better conversation. Just a little advice go out and explore. It is on you to build up your confidence. Good luck everyone

I'm a Costa Rican who tries to take advantage of every opportunity to stablish conversations with English speaking people. By the way, your tips about actively listening and showing empathy to others are really awesome 👍. I live in the capital San José where the weather isn't so hot 🥵.

I highly recommend this kind of content. Keep it up, and we look forward to more. Pierre

Thank you vanessa! God bless you and your loved ones! It's so useful video you've made this week as always. I think learners need to chat with a native American at least online. Without doing such a program, learners would never end up with a perfect knowledge in speaking. I hope you or your subscribers share with us some places we as learners can chat with native Americans. I heard there are some websites for exchanging language knowledge by chatting. For instance, you love to know Spanish and I love you know English. So we two can help each other mutually.

Thanks a lot for teaching these amazing tips to us. The acronym ' Nose' is so interesting, and I learned that : N is the first letter of nodding O is the first letter of open posture S is the first letter of smile( loved the point that you said about natural smiling) Finally, E is the first letter of eye contact

Salut, Professeur Vanessa ! Pierre
