SPD chip in RAM. What happens if you remove it?

The SPD chip is located on the computer's RAM . This eight-pin chip stores data about the RAM. When we turn on the computer, the BIOS requests information from the SPD chip and if this chip is not there, the RAM will not work.
What I did in this video. I took an SPD chip from another similar 1GB RAM and soldered it and it worked
