Love it Solomon Islands. I was told by my late grandfather his ancestors were from Solomon Islands and Niue before going to Tonga 🇹🇴? I know nothing about Solomon Islands 🇸🇧 and not much about Niue 🇳🇺 but it makes me wonder about the impacts migration had or has on people. I do think 🇹🇴 definitely overpowered and took over the 🇳🇺 and 🇸🇧 culture and so my 🇹🇴 kainga no longer affiliates with their Niue or Solomon Islands culture or roots anymore. I now live in New Zealand 🇳🇿 born and raised but hey, still proud to know I have Solomon Islands roots? Stay blessed 🇸🇧

@@paulakula5121 nice. My maternal grandma’s (mum’s mum) ancestor on her mother’s side is full Samoan. Yet her Tongan side dominated that 🇼🇸 heritage? Interestingly, I was told the Western Hihifo side of the main Tongatapu Island 🇹🇴 mainly has Samoan 🇼🇸 roots, oddly, I also have Tongan (Western) Hihifo roots on my paternal grandmother’s (dad’s mum’s) side. I think again, the 🇹🇴 dominated their 🇼🇸 roots in Tonga. I think maybe the best evidence showing migrations impacts on culture is shown in the language or cultural performances and generically features of each Pacific Islander nation? I don’t know, just a thought. I think it’s cool your children know their Solomon Islands or Pacific or Polynesian roots? ♥️

Alvaro De Mendana discovered Solomon Islands in 1568 n his second voyage in 1594. Therefore, Solomon Islands discovered in 1500's not 1700's.
