    Beautiful work, love the look of the anodizing. I've ordered a 3.25 Warthog today, had an itch that needed scratching

    They could definitely use a sharpening choil. Nice work on the ano, really like the 2 tone standoffs.

    I think the large SHF is a great knife. But the small SHF really isn't all that great for the price. At $300-350 maybe. The small checks off alot of boxes for me. But...the jimping...there is a large spot between the blade jimping and the handle. That's right where my thumb lands. Also, there really isn't any reason to not have ceramic ball detent ball. The s45vn is ran harder the s35vn they were using and CRK knives has used ceramic for years with no issue using s35vn. Another thing I found. The washers were really loose on the pivot. It lead to a sloppier action vs the properly sized washers I replaced them with(the Hinderer xm-18 bronze washer is a perfect fit for the small washer btw). It really helped with blade stability changing them out and improved the action quite a bit. I was going to modify the knife to more suit my needs(adding a sharping choil, adding additional jimping where my thumb lands, slightly sanding down the inner portion of that scales that are sharp, and smoothing of out the stupid sharp lock bar end that digs into my hand). But at the end of the day. It's a $400 knife that you shouldn't need to do this to. I was told it's all by design and it's all meant to be that way. So I returned it for a refund. Also, I like the larges blade design significantly more vs the smalls. With a couple subtle changes it could be a great knife. But as is. It's not a $400 knife IMO. To some it may be. I own many $400 knives and it's just not there... Yet. Just my opinion of coarse. I don't produce knives.

    They do need a refresh to bring the knife up to date. If you resharpen those blades a few times they will start looking goofy real quick with no sharpenning choil, also if they will ask that much for them they better have a lockbar insert.

  • @OCD4EDC

    @OCD4EDC

    I for sure agree on the choils. You shouldn't have to do any work on a a knife this expensive. However a choil is a super easy fix. As for the lock bar insert I don't really understand that one. Sure inserts are fine, but if it's not required why put it there. The Ti on these knives is very thick and the blade tang and lock face both have correct geometry, so there is no reason for an insert. I'm not sure who started the myth that frame lock have to have an insert to be strong or wear resistant, this is just simply not true. The main reason for a lock insert is for ease and speed of mass manufacturing. Thanks for watching!!!

    @@OCD4EDC its more about justifying the price, when every other knife has these aditional features in the same price bracket and this one is lacking it then you wonder what makes the knife worth as much as those

    Really nice knives but a little (lot) too pricey for me. If...biggest little word in the English language...if I had the money, I don't know whether I'd go Spartan Harsey or CRK. I wish I was actually faced with that dilemma and could act on it.
