Congratulations

You wouldn't have 1 Legion against 20,000 Spartans. You'd have at least 4 Legions which is 20,000. The first volley of Roman pila would cause hundreds of casualties initially. Doubt whether a Spartan phalanx could cope with a highly trained Roman Army of the late Republic/Early Empire. Just my opinion!

The Spartans were 10,000 men who had tactics unlike this where they just rush forward plus the Roman's wouldn't wait in line they would move formations to take advantage of their numbers. Man for man the Spartans win easily but the Roman empire would bring a much larger force and use their numbers well.

Well actually when The Romans invaded Greece, Greece was already to ravaged by themselves to fight back in a proper fashion. If Alexander had lived though I don't beleive that the Romans could have defeated them.

@@rufusgoldstein2655 well we might never no after all the one of the primary reason why Rome defeated Carthage was because a Carthiginian ship washed up on shore. Keep in mind that although the Romans were great in land battle they were crushed in naval warfare

OK, I gotta start with I love the work you do, tons of fun, I've subscribed. Having said that, the bloody Spartans would NEVER break ranks in that fashion! They would advance as a phalanx and hit the Romans as one solid mass of manpower. On the other hand, the Romans would NEVER stand still like that to receive that charge (unless fighting barbs). They would maneuver their maniples to the flanks and all of them would be launching pilums as the Greeks closed in. Very different battle with the superior mobility of the Romans probably winning the day.

It's cool to watch, but many of the front line soldiers are just standing there with their opponent a foot in front of them, just staring at each other. You probably need more processor power so every front line soldier is fighting.

The SIM is incorrect, the Spartans would not rush the Romans. It would be I believe a gradual advance, as neither side would want to break formation.

By this time they had executed all the holy knights. There legion didnt have advanced lance corporals anymore since they were killed to convince Longinus to convert his faith and language from Christianity. It was never a religion but a people and culture who we see painted fairly white lunging spears into dragons. Also is why these Roman legionnaires didnt throw javelins or spears they killed off the remarkable Charioteers for being Christian as well. All the killed legionnaires were dark skinned and Christian estruscans descendants... Prove me wrong you all know the technology but didnt know the culture behind it all.

And the Romans have larger shields, which means they can protect the torso, legs and a little head if you bent down, while the Spartans have round shields and only protect the torso. Already at the stage of the attack, the Spartans should have had more victims, but here the opposite is true. Italians Vs Greeks is this battle.

You need to add realistic military tactics such as flanking one side and vice versa. These armys staying still isnt accurate as a back unit would mosy likely have attacked from side and and a roman unit would have had a mounted calvary come from behind realistlcy. Its cool but the army's go straight forward often and we dont see what military tacticians. The romans sis defeat the spartans. They often attacked from many sides. Please show some military tactics in some videos

Este simulador sobrevalora el mito de Esparta. Las legiones son superiores por su estrategia y los implementos que usan son más sofisticados que los Espartanos por algo fue catalogado como el ejército más ordenado y profesional del mundo antiguo la máquina de guerra del imperio.

Así es, pero este video es basura. Si las legiones derrotaron a la falange, podían con mayor facilidad derrotar a los Espartanos que por cierto hasta donde recuerdo rara vez pudieron reunir más de 10 o 12.mil hombres en una batalla.

@@federicodergrosse8922 bueno no hay que ser duros con los comentarios el vídeo no es exactamente con datos históricos etc. El solo simuló de una batalla pero se nota que está de alguna manera inclinado a los Espartanos y es la clásica de casi mucha gente que como dije en uno de mis primeros comentarios. Romántisan en exceso y le ponen una capacidad casi sobrehumana a algo que realmente si tienen un buen rango militar pero para su tiempo , y por lo contrario Hollywood y algunas series hacen ver al legionario romano como un sanguinario conquistador sin moral con una sociedad llena de corrupción y excesos que realmente no fueron Haci ese es el problema la gente no se guía por datos históricos más por programas basura y datos erróneos.Es bueno siempre encontrar personas que indaguen y den buenas opiniones. Saludos mi estimado que tenga buen dia

To understand who the Romans were and what they were capable of it is enough to study their long history of victories. Even at the worst of times the Roman army was not as weak as shown in this video. For example in the games Rome total war 2 and Atilla total war you can see what a Roman army can be. And if you think it is okay to make fun of the Romans you can take my words as an elimination of your illiteracy on ancient civilizations.

This simulation is BS. The simulation is unable to account for soldiers fighting as units where adjoined shields would prevent spear thrusts for killing Roman troops. And a spear thrust from a Spartan would not cause a soldier to jump back 5 meters. And where are the Roman Pila? It would be an interesting battle to simulate if the simulation engine was able to account for tactics and proximity of 1 soldier to the next, formations, to make it more realistic, but it is not capable of that. Why do you think troops got into formations, because it looked good? No, but because it offered tactical/personal combat advantages. Again, a BS simulation.
