Sparks - Number 1 Song in Heaven 1979
Музыка
Not one, not two, but three, count 'em, THREE Ron Maels. Three very pretty Ron Maels.
If that ain't heaven, I don't know what is.
The 3 pretty Rons make up for the bad hair day (month? year? decade?) that Russell was having.
Update: Well well well. That Group is no longer interested in taking this video down. You can watch it as much as you want. But you still should buy the record "No. 1 in Heaven", it's very good.

I can't help but laugh at every closeup of Ron Mael. His expressions are priceless!

He scared the hell out of me when I was a kid. lol.
Ron gave me nightmares as a kid in the early 1970's. Today I love Sparks!
Sparks should be in the Guinness book of records for being the worlds best underrated and unappreciated band

YES! Best underrated, under appreciated AND longest lasting while staying true to their sound but being contemporary with every new album they put out.

As well as Hawkwind. Name another group that appeals to hippies, crustys, one if not only 70's band punk embraced, new wave space cadets, pioneers of the rave ethos, trance, techno and electronica and least of all ROCK'N'ROLL. MAN!!!!!

Well I certainly can't name another, but I never heard of Hawkwind. I'll check them out, THANKS MAN!

Goodness me! It takes me back to summer camps in the late 70s in the pouring rain. Happy days, we would be out for hours with no phones so nobody knew where we were. Heaven!
Sparks ,Great songs when music was not manufactured ,Grew up with this music ,superb!
just cant get enough of these,,reet, have a drink, get pissed,go on pc,listen to sparks on full pelt..heaven
One of the Iconic sounds of my youth. Still love it, still resonates.
Classic example of early arpeggios and sequencers. A valued part of the electronic music revolution!
utterly fantastic track, loved it back in 79 and it still sounds fresh now
the years melt away and I am blissful again - perhaps it really is the number one song over heaven
Such a fab song just love it just wanna get up and dance to this.
The guy with the tache has finally lightened up and smiles these days. Really original look. It's difficult to keep your eyes off him-amazing!
You just cant top this!! I was obsessed with them as a kid..I re-enacted every video or TOP performance they did..HYPER :)
Sparks did some magnificent singles and they still sound wonderful after all these years.

This band really rocks I got acquainted with Sparks while watching the movie Rollercoaster they performed in that movie .Which is a really good movie .
40 yes on and nobody has covered it coz it's perfection.mr moroders production and these two geniuses.A song you never grow tired of
i played this song and the album back in the late 70's
Awesome voice!
this song gives me chills..
There was nothing to be said in disco after this masterpiece.
One of my most favourite songs, ever! You cannot help but start to either finger tap or head nod to it, and then you keep humming it. 34 years later it still sounds freakin' awesome!
Eileen,I was always under the impression, way back in 1974,that Russel always appeared on screen with a bad hair day. However,it did not take away the love I had for the Mael Brothers, and their fantastic music.
Another great song from this fabulous combo.

Brilliant Nostalgia - puts a smile on ya face on a grey day!
Så många minnen, älskar Sparks! Senario, att bara få ta med en skiva till en öde ö, för mig självklart: The best of SPARKS!
Such a big fan of Sparks seeing them this year on the Hippopotamus tour Ron is a genius.
"I'm going nowhere Lynn, no quite literally I'm on the ring road."
Takes me back to happy childhood memories and beautiful places
undeniably a sparks classic, absolutely brilliant track. and 3 rons, its more than any girl could wish for! i think i need a lie down.
loved this then .... still love this now ;-) xx
Brilliant Tune from this American Pop & Rock Band who Re-Located to England From LA in the 70's!, Sadly they have never got to Number One!, No2 the best they have achieved in UK Charts with "This Town Ain't Big Enough for bith of us!".
The clearest and best version of this catchy ditty that I have found. Years ahead of their time .... and still going.
The end is especially moving - song is a genius work: "In cars it becomes a hit In your homes it becomes advertisements And in the streets it becomes the children singing"
For those who thumbed this classic song down I invite you to come up with the riffs the lads came up with all those years ago! Thumbs up to Sparks and to the trolls I bite my thumb. Glam rock at it's finest
Wow! That brought back memories 👍
Way ahead of its time. Can't believe it's from 1979.
I grew up listening to sparks, loved them back in the 70s and still do Ron mael was a character back then and still is ,and is very talented so there!!!

OMFG awesome! Best song I've never heard before in at least a month! And I already like Sparks!
Still love this song
ron had the best face and look ever, especially that smile at 2.21! AWESOME LOOK!
Followed up on Sparks after reading Morrissey 's autobiography. What a treat!
WOW. One of the first singles I ever bought, and indeed, still have :) I'd totally forgotten about them - but, listening again I remember how brilliant (and modern sounding) they were for that era. Wonderful.
two of the coolest mothers ever to walk this planet
Still one of the best songs ever written
Love this song.
I don't know what people would do witouth sparks back then thank god for sparks
Great. I'd forgotten about it, until it featured in Alpha Papa movie - an underrated song. As for Ron Mael - scared me as a child on ToTP in the 70s!

Fucking great. Inspiring and uplifting. Unfortunately the snobby radio stations in England never play this and probably never will again. So I turn to you tube.

Back in their 70's heyday they were frequently on the radio in the UK, as well as TV, in fact they had much more success here and elsewhere in Europe than in their native US. Since then? I don't know, I saw them at a festival in East London in May 1995, on the bill with the then newly big hitting UK bands like Blur.

+SSCFPA they were huge in Cleveland in the 1970s. WMMS initially broke them in America and played them quite a bit, from kimono and the glam era stuff onward. We were spoiled for Sparks back then.
This is a great song
This is an epic revelation, a poetic elevation and a frantic leveration.
Total classic, I've still got my Blue Vinyl 12" of it !!!!
einfach endgeil ist dieses Lied^^
just love this band so much
