SPARK PLUGS REPLACEMENT - MERCEDES S350 W221 (how to replace S-class spark plugs diy)

Short diy tutorial on changing the spark plugs on W221 Mercedes S class.
All you need is T30 bit, a torque wrench, a regular wrench, 6 new plugs and about an hour of your time.
Some recomend using grease on the threads, some say don´t put any stuff on new plugs. I didn´t use anything and all works fine.
As I am not professional mechanic, there might be some misstakes in the shown proces. Do this at your own risk. Also, I will be happy for constructive suggestions and advices.

Hi is s350 v6 more reliable than s500 v8

Hello there. If you mean the 5,5 V8 with 382 HP (285 kW), I would say it´s about the same as the S350 when it comes to reliability. Both engines are N/A, the V8 has direct injection, so carbon build-up could be an issue. Check for steady idle on cold and warm engine. Also, they both suffered from worn Idler gear, which can destroy the engine. But if you know the VIN of the car, you can easily check online, if your car is affected. There are known electrical issues. Mine didn´t let me close the sun roof and sometimes, some windows didn´t go up. If I could choose again, I would definitely go for the V8. The car is quite heavy and the V6 is not powerfull enough. I don´t know much about the newer 4,6 V8 with 429 HP. Hope this helps...

BOSCH 0 242 135 509 These are the plugs. Widely available.
do you need to disconnect the battery?

The interval for changing spark plugs is 30K to 60K km depending on your make and model. I do it somewhere in between.
