I was asked about it so I made this video of how I see the workd of spark plugs for the A-series engine……

Thank you for this video - I have just ordered 6s and 7s and will test them both and for £20 all in for both sets it makes sense. I had bpr8es when i bought the car and changed them immediately to bpr7es. 1380 engine running very rich so also fitted a wideband afr. I really like the reminder about gap measuring too.

Crystal clear and well done. Sounds like my very hard driven road 1330 with Megasquirt, Calver head and dual coil pack should stick with BP6. Per your instructions I need to squeeze down to 35 thou gap from the 40 I’m at.

I've checked my coil (checked the leads on the meter first)it's a 2.4 ohm coil, I have a low compression electronic ignition, you clarified this a while ago , as I sent you a picture of it. plug gapped at 25 tho. Do I have the wrong coil? Should it be a1.5ohm? or is the one I have ok? Thanks for all your help. Tony@@ACDodd

I have an NGK distributor cap with the HT leads terminated with NGK resistor plug covers (LB05EZ) that contain a 5K ohm ceramic resistor. Are these plug covers robbing the ignition system of power as the R plugs do?
@ACDodd

If that’s the only resistance in the system Then you are all good, but if you have resistor plugs and resistive leads as well then that’s too much
Have you any experience with non-projected electrode plugs? I’ve seen a few mini shops suggest them eg B7ES and B8ES

6’s for road and monitor the plugs. If you do track days, put 7’s in for that work. Only go up a heat range if the plugs show signs of distress. I can’t tell how your engine will respond, that’s the whole point of reading your plugs
