Really nice little tune up job, similar for many SOHC and DOHC engines with individual coils in the middle of the engine.

Thanks for the video. Just changed mine today after 12 years! Cleaned the MAF sensor as well. That pesky Service Engine Soon light went off as a result although the code was for the thermostat. Gonna change that next.
you my friend are awesome. thank you :) getting tired of paying some1 to do something i could myself.

Hey Jane Doe thanks for the comment, I sometimes think at work "this is so simple I don't need to shoot this video." I have to remember it can be a little intimidating under the hood. Shoot the video, it will likely help someone and give them confidence to do it and find out, yep that was easy.
thanks a lot my amigo, save me some money and learn a lot, good vid. short and to the point
Thanks for mentioning the size of the spark plug socket. You're awsome!
Oh yeah..........looks easy to install. Thanks for the tip too
starting to love my car
The best engine
Great, thank you!
Thank u for the great video
thanks very much fr your help
Hello, Thank you so much.I REALLY NEED the instruction. Regards, jcw
thank you sooo much!!
Seriously--really appreciate this video. : ) y Thanks, Boss.
good video.
Great video Thanks...
Thank you , could you tell me what you used to write the oil capacity on the engine it is really neat
Two words, torque wrench...
Hey nice video, I'm thinking about replacing my spark plugs on a 2004 1.8L? Which spark plugs will you recommend for good quality and performance? Car has 168,000 miles and never had a tune up(I believe lol) and also I was told that my C02 sensor was out? Do you think i should do the tune-up first or replace that sensor? Thanks
Yo thanks for thks man .. i heard u need to gap the plugs but these days they come pre gap so easier by the way what size sockwt you usin ? I ha w the same qg15 engine and. I have a 13/16 will that work or its 5/8
Does this video also apply to the 2.5 limited edition
Hey, I have a Nissan 2002 sentra QG16, can you recommend for the spark plugs the brand for best performance. Thanks.
Sir what equivalent of sparkplug in ngk brand. I have nissan n16 qg13 engine, is it the same spark plug on the video?
Best efi engine
I have a nissan sentra but when i start it th e neighbor i bought from said when i start i havr press the brake then when it starts hold the gas at low rpm until ir runs on its own or it will food have any ideas what it could be
Easy to remove and install
Can nad plugs cause car to shake with black smoke ?
Would this be the same for my 2001 Sentra 2.0 and do you have a link to the tool you used?
Hello. I have a P1320 code on a qg16 which is the 1.6 version. It revs itself when going into neutral whilst driving or coming to a stop. What could be the best way to handle this?
The shaking while driving slow can be because of a bad spark plug, right? Does this video also apply to the XE models?
Sir, thank you for your very helpful video. It has given me confidence to do this myself. What spark plugs do you recommend for a 2005 1.8 Nissan Sentra? Would I have to calibrate them?
Where do you get your tools from. Don't want to pay alot for some tools or buy cheap
How would i be able to remove my spark plug bc it won’t release
Where is ignition condensor located?
Question: I disconnected 2 coils and then pulled them out, so I had two loose coils (black boxes). I wanted to compare the two (bad idea). Anyhow, I got the coils mixed up and might have put the coils in the wrong compartments e.g. black box1 where black box3 was and vice versa. I however did not get the gray plug in (not sure what they're called "sensors?") switched up. I drove it around for 10 minutes and it seems to run fine. Would this cause a misfire or any problem if I truly switched the coils?

If there was no problem with your coils then it shouldn't be an issue
IN 2008, Renault put the spark plugs under the intake manifold....so this is not going to work for any of the 2008-2012 cars....I know, I have one.
Hi-great video-is there much of a difference with a newer Sentra? I have a 2011 reading misfire when I had my tech check it-it hesitates when accelerating, shakes at idle and has actually died when stopping after driving awhile-mechanic says it will be $300+ due to labor involved in getting to plugs....any help would be appreciated

***** I am not sure that a bad spark plug will cause your car to die. Does your 2011 look similar to the car in the video, like your car has a coil on top of each spark plug? What was the code or codes in the computer?
Hey, my buddies 01 sentra shakes hard when he drives. I think it's the spark plugs. But I connected it to a ob2 scanner and said maf sensor. I don't think it's the mass air flow causing this. But then again I'm no mechanic. Could you let me know what you might think it is?

***** If there is a code for the MAF I would at least see if you can clean the wires, if you can access them, take a good look at the air boot between the MAF and the throttle body and check for any cracks that would let air in. Cant have any leaks there. if it was a spark plug issue causing a misfire there should be a misfire code stored in memory. P0301, p0302, p0303, p0304
Do you recommend using platinum spark plugs over iridium plugs? Can I gap an iridium plug? I own a 2003 Nissan Sentra. The specs say 0.043mm and all the spark plugs I've found are either 0.040 or 0.044. (I'm new to this haha)

You can gap them, personally I don't think that you really need to be worried about being totally exact. you can be just fine being off .002 or so in my opinion.

All right! Thank you!
Yeah, I’ll be doing this myself. YourMechanic is great, but they want to charge me $334.09 for this. No thanks!
I have 02 2.5L spec v. Anything different there as far as plugs go?

If you mean simple replacement, no there should not be. I am surprised that the box of spark plugs I usually get (like a 4pack of plugs) on the inside it explains how to tighten them, maybe peek inside and see what you see.
I started to change plugs in my 2000 sentra but found the first plug to be real tight when removing. I was afraid i might snap the plug so i stopped. Any thoughts on this? Thanks.

Stan Kardas are you turning the wrench the right way!?
@stankardas500

uber sanchez yes, definitely turning the socket the right way. I guess its possible the plug was cross threaded going in or, there's just some corrosion.
I have a question. I plan to use a torque wrench to tighten the spark plugs on a 2005 (1.8 L) Nissan Sentra. Could you tell me what the torque spec is on that car?

I am assuming that you had the code cleared after replacing the items?
Sir one question or anyone that can answer it. I replaced the spark plugs in the same car and one of the spark plugs had oil. I remove the spark plug and I saw oil on it and in the coil and there was oil in the compartment where the spark plug goes. What can be wrong? Thank you

Adventures with Monkey probably a broken piston ring
@nathaniel781
5 жыл бұрын
Adventures with Monkey - your valve cover gasket is bad. There is a gasket that goes around the whole valve cover and also a ring gasket for each spark plug. When the gasket fails, oil will seep into the spark plug chamber. Take off your valve cover and replace all the gaskets under it and you should be good to go.
Could this cause your car to hesitate

Mercedes deberry Well spark plugs, coils, and plug wires that are bad will cause a misfire, and that could be the same thing. I would consider a hesitation less of a jerky feeling when driving then a misfire. I would consider a fuel issue or sensor problem when describing a hesitation. but defining what you feel with words can be tricky. If they need to be done due to maintenance I would at least do them 1st.
hii ...well i have a question ...soo my nissan sentra 05 start normal at the first time i drive n i turn it off ..and after 30 minutes doesnt start at the first time until i try for second time idk what it could be the problem ...thanks

I can't really say why, I wonder if fuel pressure is bleeding off somehow, so you have little to no fuel pressure when 1st starting. Maybe try to turn the key to the "ON" position (dash lights come on) leave it there for 3-4 seconds, then off for about 10 seconds, then back to the "ON" position again, and then the 3rd time try to start it and see if it starts right away.

I have the same problem with u and now I can not start my car no matter how many times I tried...I think it might be the spark plug problem but I'm not sure. I'll have my car towed to an auto repair store to check it out.
@fixingcarsandstuff

Well you would need to do a few basic checks. Checking spark output at the spark plug, spark should be able to jump a gap of about 1./2 an inch. Likely is best to have someone check it out as you are doing now. Good luck with it.
Before I take out the spark plugs how would I know if that is the issue and problem I need to fix? My 2002 Nissan Sentra will crank but not start.

could be a bad fuel pump, i have this car as a secondary and that was its issue. Its pretty common in this car.

It's a very simple fix in this car you can get to it without dropping the tank! just lift up the bottom of the backseat and low and behold it's there.

PLEASE HELP! my spark plug wrench is short, about 2-3/4 inches (2 and 3/4 inches) , so I had to use a long extension bar. The problem is that if I had screwed in the new spark plug, the short spark plug wrench would be stuck inside, it would not be pulled out along with the extension bar that it was attached to. WHAT SHOULD I DO PLEASE?

Hi I was trying to change my spare plug but it got broken, how do i take it out. Help me please

I am not sure exactly where the spark plug broke for you. if it was just the white porcelain upper part you can still get a socket on the plug and turn it out. Maybe you need a magnet to pull out the parts.
@stefanyarmijos6486
9 жыл бұрын
was the porcelain plus the plug so i can not use the socket. I just call a professional to do it, lol . Thank you very much, your videos are amazing
power tool on a spark plug is just lazy
Come on if you're gonna do a video do it right. You should be telling those who are new to this to do one plug at a time and not to remove them all at once because people did mess up the firing order if they don't know. These are big things to miss but otherwise you did fine. Recording camera angle is piss poor and you you dont gap these plugs but you could take 30 seconds to tell or show what gapping is because as you should know sometimes its are untapped or moved in shipping, Etc. You should've also removed the plug and show what a bad spark plug looks like. 😑

If by chance you mess up the firing order, how do you put it back the right way? Do it all again but this time in order? Thanks
