You hang them in a heated (approx. 170°) barn/barns usually for 4-6 days...it's called curing.

This type of harvesting goes from the bottom up as the leaves mature. In the old days it was done by hand and called “priming” tobacco.

I cropped tobacco by hand for three summers when I as young. $100.00 a week. That was big money to a young boy in those days. If you don't know what stingy green is, then you haven't cropped tobacco by hand. lol

scatter the leaves into huge bins packed tight as you can get and hang the bins in the tobacco barns to cure

it does... packed into 13 bins for a particular kiln green weight around 1400 lbs for low pulling.. forced air drying system... but key is to keep air moving
