Many years ago my English father introduced my Spanish boyfriend to "Faulty Towers". It is an English comedy of 12 half hour episodes and it is set in a small hotel in England in the 1980's. One of the characters was supposed to be a Spanish waiter. My boyfriend, Antonio, loved it, maybe you will too.

I think you would enjoy "The Ricky Gervais Show" - it's a cartoon based on podcasts they did with Stephen Merchant too. The full episodes generally seem okay to get up on youtube Karl is unintentionally hilarious.. and is taking this English lesson seriously. Ricky is taking the piss and has set the whole thing up to just to see how Karl reacts to it. The Ricky Gervais Show is basically Ricky and Steve asking Karl things and seeing what odd funny abnormal perspectives he has

after many many hours of listening to Karl, I really think this is Karl's genuine personality. I've always wondered if he plays it up for the camera, but I dont think so. his mind just simply goes in a different direction than most minds haha

I am jealous of you, Spanish Girl. If I could wipe my brain of Karl Pilkington and rewatch all afresh again, I would be so happy. He's the world's funniest man and he's angry and confused about why everyone loves and laughs at him so much. And btw, it's not acting. He's REALLY like that.

Karl is the Best ! He was the radio producer, and Ricky had the genious idea to put him on camera and a mic.. Unintentionaly funny guy he is ..One of my favourite persons ! Then Ricky and Steven produced " An Idiot Abroad", where he travels around the World.. But my favourite, is the podcast that was then animated with fantastic cartoons " The Ricky Gervais Show ".. If you start watching, start with "The Ricky Gervais Show".. this english lesson was an pilot episode, and they didn't do more.. They did 2 episodes of "Meet Karl Pilkington", but the cartoons is what i would start to watch.. It was kind of a experience, and first episodes, are good, but specialy when they introduce Karl Diary, the fun begins.. On beginning they introduce a segment "Monkey News", and Karl is dedicated searching news about it..But The Diary is the best, and the animation.. And "An Idiot Abroad is great, but the pace is slower..maybe after, when episodes end of podcast cartoons..

in 3 years time you will be doing The Complete Karls Diary.. welcome to the ride.....

This is not an English lesson, it is just an excuse for Ricky to put his friend Karl into a position where he can be humiliated without realising what is happening.

Watching this got me thinking. One of the main sentences you learn in Spanish is; Donde esta la bibliotecha. If I'm in Spain and I don't speak much Spanish, why would I want to go to a Spanish library. Where the books will all be in a language I don't speak very well.

In school I learned the english word "elephant". This is the first time I have used that word. I do not work in a Zoo and there are no Elephants roaming around where I live. The way languages are thought is really bad/unpractical. So much time wasted on grammar and words you will not even use in your daily life.

Please do react to anything with Ricky Gervais, especially if it involves Karl Pilkington. In my opinion, Ricky is one of the best stand up comedians around. Karl is one of the people who worked in production department on radio XFM, head(no pun intended) of the sound department if I remember well, and during their work Ricky discovered that he was natural born comedian(unlike Ricky he does not even have to put an effort to be funny and is often unaware of it). Ricky, Stephen Merchant and Karl really made some incredibly funny content(Their radio podcast, Ricky Gervais show, An Idiot abroad). They don't work together anymore, but what they did was hilarious. xD Karl is a down to earth bloke who lacks some basic education(he learnt only what he was really interested in, and just flushed everything else down the drain) which leaves a lot of place in his mind to come up with some of the funniest ideas(misinterpretations really) I have ever heard and can get really grumpy when annoyed, as you have already seen in this video. That guy is British national treasure. xD

Why is the swearing removed? It's not as funny.

Why? Ricky only knows 2 words which he repeats over and over again, cancel culture. That is the only thing he can say.

Karl pilkington is not funny….. the office was not funny. Ricky gervais is intelligent, eloquent and persuasive, but also not that funny. Golden globe duties? Priceless HILARIOUS even, bit he wasn’t being funny, he was being rudely blunt/honest about other people’s shame. That is not being funny it is being indifferent.
