@@mercy1459 debes tener en cuenta las fechas, nueva castilla existió desde 1534 a 1542, (solo 8 años) luego desde 1542 se elimina el sistema de gobernaciones como las de nueva castilla o nueva toledo y se crea el virreinato del Perú que absorbe a todas, este virreinato permanece como uno solo hasta 1717 (175 años), año en que se crea nueva Granada, que por cierto se desintegra y es reincorporado al peru un par de veces, y por ultimo el virreinato del río de la plata se creó recién en 1776 osea, existió por 34 años hasta las independencias, mientras que antes de eso estuvo unido al virreinato del peru por 234 años

Few. In psrt because of the education systems installed after independence to spread a sense of common identity and nationalism in countries with huge diversity of ethnic groups. In psrt because of the fact most of Spanish immigration here happened in the 16th and 17th century (except in the southern Cone: Argentina, Uruguay, Chile where the big wave was in the late 18th/early 19th), a time when nationalism wasn't as big of a thing as it is right now. They settled in here, more or less violently mixed with the natives, and by the 3rd or 4th their identity became rooted in this land rather than in the land of great-grandparents they didn't even meet. In psrt because a lot of Spaniards simply r*ped native women by the dozens, them being virtually third class subjects of the King: indigenous, and female... their word against that of a Spanish male was worth next to nothing. So most of the kids born out of such r*pes grew up without much appreciation for the absent/abusive parents who in most cases left all of their inheritance to their other kids sired with Spanish women. So no, most of us have a weak (or null at all) bond of ancestry with Spain, or a minimal one compared with the one we have with our Native roots.
