All these devices are fine, but you get no exercise whatsoever. I'm 63 and am a borderline diabetic. If I resorted to cutting my firewood like this ... if I had a hundred grand U.S., my diabetic numbers would likely go off the charts!! I "STIHL" think my "STIHL" chainsaw and my 18 ton log splitter I paid $1,800 for, work really well. I'm retired and I work at it as I want.

Now that is the way to split wood, sure is better than a sledge and a wedge...

I've always wanted to see how one of these machines would handle a knotty piece of red oak or a twisted Virginia pine. They're always demonstrated with a nice, straight, knot-free piece of poplar or beech.

Maybe its being cut into fire wood, or being processed into a certain size so that it can further be manufactured in to mulch or wood-chips?

I agree - lets see it deal with something gnarly or a knuckle where the main branches split. Would still love one of these though - let the machine do the bulk and use chainsaws for the messy bits. Dream on!

I like wood splitters, preferably done with a machine, I split hundreds of tonnes over the years with a block buster, would have come in very handy 40 plus years ago on the farm.

Now that's the right thing to do with wood! Heating or fireplace! Not chipping. I can hardly understand why would so many people use woodchippers to waste so much good hardwood? I truly don't get where's the deal? Maybe someone can explain?

There will always come a time when something goes wrong and you have to get in there and be a bit manual, I think trying to get a jammed bit of wood out of this would be near impossible.

not saying my design would be better. im sure their design is as best as it can be. especially for a first product

Warum wird in dieser Maschine eine Kettensäge und keine Kreissäge verbaut? Eine Kreissäge ist in der Lage die Kraft effizienter anzubringen und lässt dadurch kontinuierlich höhere Schnittgeschwindigkeiten zu. Dabei bietet sie eine deutliche besser Standfestigkeit, weniger Ausfallzeiten da sie einfacherer und robuster ist und nicht zu guter letzt eine einfache Montage und Wartung während des Betriebs. Eine Kreissäge sollte, in so fern die Möglichkeit besteht, einer Kettensäge auf jeden Fall vorgezogen werden.
