My husband American and I Dutch live in Germany. We are going to retire in Spain, Valencia. Next month we go Apartment hunting. I can't wait. In the North of Europe we don't have a Biddet either. Girl, it is wonderful. You use it to clean yourself after doing a big number 2. Great each month to clean yourself while you have your period. You sit on the Biddet like the toilet. Put the water on and wash yourself.

Our plan is to be in Spain for 3yrs. I noticed you gave the rank of your husband. My Son on law is a E7. He maybe a Chief before we leave Virginia Beach. This is my first time traveling with him. There are E 4 of us. So, the option is due to rank in terms according to rank? Again, thank you for the information.

Well, speaking as someone who was stationed in Rota in the mid-1970s all I can say is , WOW!

Every time I return to America I feel like a real person because everyone else in South America and Europe live in a little persons home lol. And the you go to Texas and the small is an XXXXXXXXL 😂

14:00: it has nothing to do with storms, you close it at night so people don’t see inside your house, or during hot days to keep the house cold. Every single apartment and house in Europe has it, not only Spain.

We are moving to Rota next month!! These videos are so helpful 🙌🏼

Hi, this is random but Im considering Rota spain and I do have two kids. we wouldnt move there til like 2025 but I see in your photo you have a child and Im just wondering how you are enjoying it there so far since it seems liek you have been there a few months now. Here's a bidet explanation that may be TMI: In Middle Eastern and Far Eastern cultures, it's considered important to actually wash our private parts with water rather than just smear our discharges around with paper. We use regular plastic jugs or bottles when no bidet is available. It's a great, clean feeling.😆😅🤣😂🙃

You do get central heating and air in Spain, just usually in more modern houses. Yours seems like a "renovated" townhouse (I checked it out given the relative position to the castle). Also Cadiz is warm enough yearlong so you dont need heating. Most houses there do have AC tho. Those blinds you hate are precisely to block the light and the views. Interior temperature is very efficiently regulated by controling the amount of light (=heat) coming into the house so wise people only raise them in the summer once the sun is down so air remains cool inside. Much more healthier then using the SC all day. The only moment I think you could use a dehumidifier in that part of Spain is when there is slow west wind (levante en calma). The rest of the time is a pretty dry time. Same with the bugs. Bugs only get into your house when is wet or when the house is not clean. We clean our houses with bleach so bugs have no reason to wander in.

My husband is obsessed with the baday he swears by it. I never used it either but I have used one before not bad

No obstante yo les recomendaría que tuvieran amplitud de miras y no limitarán su estancia en Rota a unas pocas salidas de la base. Europa y España en particular son muy diversas, de una región a otra cambia la gastronomía, las costumbres e incluso el idioma y aprovechen para que sus hijos aprendan castellano, alemán o italiano, pues hablar otro idioma conlleva a entender la vida desde otra perspectiva

Houses for rent in Spain will always have smaller appliances (just saying) Specially in a place like Rota, which is a village full of foreigners that are willing to pay a lot for whatever they can get. And what I mean with this is... don´t assume this is what Spanish houses look like, please.

You can get bigger ovens, they are available. Unfortunately your house is pretty but very small. You can get more. I have a side by side fridge, big sink, depends on your house. But yours is lovely and the place is really nice.

I wonder why this kichen seems small to you. Do americans cook their whole week full of food on one go? Or they usually have at least 5 kid family to feed? 🙂

how do you wash you sheets and comforter the washer and dryer doesn't look big enough to accommodate them.

The sheets fit! The comforter can be washed on base at the laundromat because it has huge ones! Before I realized that I actually “stripped” the comforter in like a big plastic tote bin. You just soak it with arm and hammer and oxy clean.

Do most people know English or will we just end up learning Spanish ?
