Constructions on many buildings are very bad in this area. Especially hotels with many floors, you can see this from outside. Over decades, iron corrodes due to Salt air and then boom.

The whole of the island is a shit hole,I was frantically trying to end my holiday,totally vile,dump of a place,not a single restaurant to eat in and the main strips sell dog shit as food,over salted kebabs,crap beer,not a single part of this island is worth a visit

It doesn't even tell you which part of Mallorca the restaurant is in...are you even aware it's an island not mainland Spain, & not over run with high rise hotels like the Costa del Sol? You seem to be mistake ng an unnamed restaurant on a Spanish Balearic Island for the Surfside condo collapse in Florida!!!

At least it hasn't been anywhere near as devastating as the Surfside Condo collapse in Florida, that the restaurant appears to have collapsed in a similar way to, with a terrace collapsing into the basement. The restaurant was 2 storey, rather than Surfside's 12 stoeys, where 98 people lost their lives when it collapsed into the underground car park, with no spaces/gaps larger than 8 inches found in the rubble by rescuers, so no air pockets/protected spaces for survivers to be rescued from. They say that people are trapped in Mallorca so let's hope rescuers are able to find these people alive 🙏🏻

@thaismile2205 ???? Tenerife & Mallorca are over 2000 km apart with Mallorca being a Balearic Island in the Mediterranean & Tenerife in the Canary Islands in the North Atlantic. How/why would you link the two beyond Spanish being the local language; are you stating all Spanish speaking countries have poor building regulations???? You're also conveniently forgetting that the building collapse you're referring to was a hotel known as 'The Skeleton' because of it's poor condition, having been abandoned & empty since the 1970s!!! Couldn't be more different to a functioning, 2 storey restaurant. Maybe you'd also like to link this horrific restaurant collapse, that they're saying was caused by a terrace collapse into the basement with the 2016 Tenerife building collapse after an explosion where 6 people died, with that Spanish link apparently being more important than the mechanism of the architectural failure?! SMH
