If England were to win the Cup without changing their style and substitutions, it would be the death of football. That’s because the winning manager sets the trend that coaches way down the leagues try to emulate - because it was successful. But England are too dreary to watch. If I had known how England would play the Group stage, round of sixteen and quarter finals, I would not have watched those matches. I would have tuned in now, or at the final, just out of curiosity but with no sense of relish. Last night I was out of my seat, punching the air, shouting, “Vaya golazo” and I’m not even Spanish. Didi and Kelly were cheerleading France and Kelly was hyping up Mbappe an overrated spoofer who is mostly pace. Mbappe has no technique and even the commentators kept worshiping him. He’s not on the level of a prime Suarez, Bale or Neymar just overrated Kylian is. Nacho and Navas who are ancient done a job on him.
