Spaceman | Official Trailer | Netflix

Ойын-сауық

Six months into a solitary research mission to the edge of the solar system, an astronaut, Jakub (Adam Sandler), realizes that the marriage he left behind might not be waiting for him when he returns to Earth. Desperate to fix things with his wife, Lenka (Carey Mulligan), he is helped by a mysterious creature from the beginning of time he finds hiding in the bowels of his ship. Hanuš (voiced by Paul Dano) works with Jakub to make sense of what went wrong before it is too late. Directed by Johan Renck and based on the novel Spaceman of Bohemia, the film also stars Kunal Nayyar, Lena Olin, and Isabella Rossellini.
Spaceman is coming to Netflix on March 1.

Adam Sandler is underrated in drama roles. He knocked it out of the park with uncut gems like Jim Carry did in the Truman Show. The funniest people on the planet live in the darkest corners. I'm excited to see Sandler in a serious role again. I'm happy for him.

Anyone curious about this movie before watching should know this is a movie for those on a spiritual path. Don’t go by the commercial ratings of this movie. The movie is very slow paced with exploring the themes of spirituality, sacrifice, love, loss, fear and acceptance. While all the earth moments and interactions are predictable it’s the space conversations that will keep you drawn and connecting the dots of your life and humanity. Again, you’ll get this movie if you’re on a spiritual path and not watching the movie for entertainment value. Bless you 🙏

Movie might not be for everyone but Adam Sandler did great. Has a lot of metaphor such as is it really a spider or divine intervention guiding Adam towards self-realization of his thoughts, ego, emotions, past deeds, and how they impacted others and himself including his childhood. Coming to terms in isolation, loneliness, fear, regret towards gratitude & growth. Even the cosmos symbolic of the character’s evolution & expansion. Spider was weird but get it. Facing yourself is scary and even ugly at times just like the spider making Adam & audience uncomfortable. So many go through this just not on a spaceship.

I noticed the czech flag there, thought it was odd with a swedish director, and american lead actor, but it makes sense now. I'm glad they kept it close to the book then, always nice with some european scifi with the characters kept european! :)

Paul Dano as the spider is such an interesting and exciting choice! He's great in every role, and I think his soothing voice will put a lot of audiences at rest despite the huge spider on screen. Also, really happy to see Sandler doing another serious role - he's great at wounded, vulnerable characters.

This film seems like it has the potential to be a huge emotional connection for people that are dealing with loneliness and its demons, kind of like Max fighting Vecna in Stranger Things, it portrayed how one would possibly deal with crippling anxiety, I cant wait to see this film and its message. Love Sandler.

I hope it does it in a double-edged sword way, where the loneliness, like you said, is something people can relate to, while also focusing on in a visceral way how unique this specific loneliness is and how lonely mankind altogether can be. Then again, it can still easily be great without the second part and I'm sure it's gonna go in a direction I'm not thinking about.

CGI creatures always look fake, the eye can tell it’s not really there.
