Those were the best days of my life growing up as a teen and young adult.... Some days I think about my glory days and smile.... Some days I think about them and miss those days so much it hurts.... Here's to the best days of my life!!
In 1996, my dad and I got season tickets to The Columbus Crew soccer team. I was 9 and we lived about an hour and a half away. Where I lived in southern Ohio, we couldn't get reception from radio stations that played alternative music. This was one of the songs I looked forward to catching on our way to the stadium. @@ghostofyourmom that isn't nearly as far fetched as you think. Alot of corporations own the publishing rights to songs and can use songs for media without permission from the song writers. Publishing rights and writing credits are not the same thing.

@jimmorrison9287

@Lin Zhaolong I'm not overthinking anything. Some people don't understand how the music business works which is OK. Now I don't know about this case in particular, but it's not crazy to think the band didn't expect this to happen. Many media companies own the publishing rights to songs while the band or individual song writer doesn't. It's extremely common, although it is becoming less common since bands aren't as reliant on record companies anymore. It's completely possible this song was put into guardians of the galaxy 3 without the band having any knowledge of it. That being said, they may have known about it too. All I know is that songs get used for media purposes all the time without the original song writers not giving permission. The rights to songs are split into a few different categories, and publishing is one of them, and a lot of times a company owns the publishing rights.
James Gunn really knows how to hit us older millennials in the soft spot.
