Of these inmates convicted for only marijuana possession, just 0.3 percent were first-time offenders. At the Federal level, of the drug defendants sentenced for marijuana crimes in 2001, the overwhelming majority were convicted for trafficking; only 2.3 percent (186 individuals) were sentenced for simple possession; and of the 174 individuals for whom sentencing information is known, only 63 were imprisoned. The expanding number of drug courts have helped ensure that the vast majority of those arrested only for possessing and using drugs are sentenced to mandatory treatment under close monitoring rather than imprisonment" - US justice department.

The most shocking part of this to me is honestly that she went to space and *still* was able to feel this way. Most astronauts I've read or heard speak on the matter say that space fundamentally changed them in a very powerful way, and gave them an appreciation for the fragility of humanity and a hopefulness that we can all work together, and feeling connected to all people, everywhere on earth. It's usually called the 'overview effect' and is purported to be very strong and often life changing to some degree. The fact that someone had the chance to experience this and *still* was able to think this way is insane. It does to me sound like she is not neurotypical, but of course that does not justify a literal murder attempt, which is what this genuinely seemed like, or at the very least a kidnapping with serious bodily harm, and she got off way too lightly for it.

Oof, he hoped she would take the hint by dodging her calls. Guys, don't do this shit. You need to leave at least one message or note about how it's over first, then you can block and ignore to your heart's content. Ghosting people just stretches the amount of suffering the other person gets to feel, and as an added "bonus" it can make the other person temporarily obsessed with you. Don't get me wrong, I don't think Oefelein "caused" Nowak's freak out, she was clearly an unstable person who is the only one to blame for her actions. I just mean that if you ghost someone and then you suddenly have three messages from them and you're just hoping and praying they don't call back again... the ghosting is the reason, because you're leaving the human brain with a mystery to solve, and it will often fill in the wrong information (like: is he in the hospital?!). Most people, no matter how upset they are, can more easily accept "we're breaking up" than they can accept the silence of not knowing.

The George Hugely video was a reupload from the Patreon that was originally a KZread upload before being taken down. It’s been renamed to be more empathetic to Yeardley. I’m thinking that’s why JCS took a break, they were objectively glamorizing true crime in the intros, and the wave they started has shifted to be more empathetic to victims.

In South Carolina, our governor, Mark Sanford, a married man with kids, was having an affair with an Argentinian married woman. He literally absconded from his office to fly to her bc she wasn't responding to his messages. He eventually divorced his hella rich wife who helped him get into office, lost his office, was a laughingstock of the whole country. Anyway, he brought her here, married her and got elected for some minor government office. It was WILD. At the time there was a newspaper that printed a statement by a psychiatrist who said that when a person is having an affair they can get so disconnected from reality (as in believing they're not hurting anyone, this won't affect them or their lives, etc) that they can operate at the level of an insane person. So she could have been so wrapped up in her delusions that she was literally insane, like legally, not knowing if it was right or wrong, but thinking it was for the best. The dance of the cheater is a tricky one, is what I'm saying, stay faithful friends.
