Handy tip for getting a very nice true flat surface for modeling and other work that needs a surface plate. Find the local granite counter top contractor/manufacturer in your area. They cut out the hole for sinks all the time, and consider the cut piece as waste. Talk nice to them, and they will often give it to you for free, or for a couple dollars as easy lunch money. Just as flat as the expensive surface plates used by machinists, even overkill for modelling, but can't beat the price!

I am loving to watch you building the eagle, and I will watch carefully everything you do here! I am a. Space:1999 fansince it all came up. Unfortunately I do not see their ships for sale anywhere and to order these and other things outside of schengen's space, is almost always a problem with our Customs, and taxes. We'll, anyway:1999 thanks for your videos!!!

This is going to be a great series. Looking forward to it. Might be a bit controversial...but I think the Eagles are the most beautiful of all Sci-Fi show ships.

The Eagle design was one of the most realistic in a SciFi series.

Thanks!! As always your videos are a lot of fun to watch and your tips are much appreciated. As another who was born in the 1060's and grew up in the 1970's I really appreciate it when some subject from earlier in my time recieves a much deserved kit release and appreciate even more being able to watch you build and pass on tips and to see your finished builds which recieve a fitting high level of quality!😀🖖

I'm glad you are showing this in steps. The Spine is always worrisome to me because you need to make sure it is square and it isn't sagging in any area!

Yes, if it's crooked, the whole model will be so it's important to get it right on the start.

I had a heck of a time building that spine piece when I built this kit. You're right, everything needs to be square on that to make it work.

Definitely a Space:1999 fan here. I've seen several YT modelers build this and older versions, can't wait to see your take on it. Good call not lighting the engines. Aztec Dummy is also doing the stunner/commlock kit as have a couple other modelers as soon as it hit the racks. I know for sure yours will excel. There's definitely room for an active display in the commlock. I'm expecting aftermarket kits using an LCD or OLED display and Arduino or something not too long from now, but an LED strip and some fiberfill should look absolutely great. There is no end of tiny sound boards that will fit and there are plenty of sound clips available on YT. Come to think of it I binge-watched the series on some streaming service or another last year (Pluto TV IIRC) that had excellent sound quality so you can grab pretty much any audio from the show you want as a sound file. One omission in the kit IMO is the desk stand the commlock was often seen in. I have seen Pepakura paper models of it online- shouldn't be hard to replicate in sheet plastic if you're that big a fan. ;>)

Got one of these in the stash and got the beak built then I had a dinosaur model kit fetish. Going to be glued to this one for sure. You “have” to do the Rescue Eagle version.

I need to get around to finishing mine one day. Can't wait to see how you will do the strips if you go down that route. The pod has lots of raised detail which will make masking a real challenge.

Hey Boyd! Always a fan of the channel! Wholesome, clean, Model-Building! Trekworks Forever!! Imma definitely need to give those paints a try tho. Seems the Hobby Lobby in Hot Springs keeps diminishing their supply of modelling paints, so online is becoming my best friend. Gonna have to look them up, plus it seems the amount per container for the pricing is also a plus! Keep up the fantastic work and we appreciate you!!
