Absolutely love Dave. What a humble and brilliant man. His machines changed the history of music.
I've been rocking on my SP 1200 since 1996. I'm definitely getting the Rossum reissue. Fire video and beat. ⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡

That studio is looking great bro, that 1200 sounds beautiful too. dope beat my man wanna see more of that SP.
PAUL C IN HEAVEN RIGHT NOW LIKE "man wit those extra 10 secs..." but for real, dope video Cookin. For those that don't know about Paul C, trace his lineage. There is a reason Rakim had a sp1200 dedicated shrine to him in his house. Hope Large Pro gets hands on one of these. Rossum killed this and we all owe him a lot of thanks.

@HipHopHobbyKlub I was just commenting on the legacy of Paul C and showing respect. Yeah it’s a drum machine and sampler. It’s a instrument in the right person hands. I know that you had one also. I believe I seen a video on a channel where a lady beatmaker said that you gave her yours if I’m not mistaken. I subscribed to her channel.

@@hiphophobbyklub with a very specific sound signiture that makes beats, specifically snares crack! So it isn't "just a machine." Remake hip hop classic made on it in software, or even 2000xl, sp404 or asr10 & see if you can get it to sound the same... They'll all sound different.

Only someone not old enough would say that. Nothing touches the 80's. 80's was king in music period... EVERYTHING was "stupid dope fresh". The 90's was dope too but it was the beginning of the end. Things just hit different after the 90's where Nas had to make an album about it. I am sorry but the 80's was bananas and off the chain. Music on a whole blew it's load in the 80's.

I had my SP1200 for almost 30 years sold it last year and went on an amazing holiday with the cash Anyone complaining that 4K is to much cash for this SP1200, do you know it will last you easily 30 years ? It’s peanuts and for this incredible re issue a well worth investment I’m about to order and will make beats on this until I’m in my 70,s No bugs no software updates it’s gonna be great ) Ps I loved this video Cooking Soul thank you 🙏

Man the work you do is so inspiring to all of us. I dont know how you find the time to do all this work and film / edit your videos on top of everything else. Incredible.
I keep rewatching this video. Partly because the SP-1200 is so beautiful, but mostly because the beat is so dope.
Just wanted to say that you truly are an inspiration for me. Your beats are unique and crisp. The way you use samples and design sounds like your snares, sax, etc, is just amazing. You make sampling look so easy and it drives me to become a better producer. Thank you so much man, don’t stop making music
Dude your videos are always top tier, beats always 🔥 and your comedy/edits is on point 🤌
Thank you for the comparison video. I was waiting for a proper one. Now just to try to get my hands on one!
Cookinsoul's a fire producer. 🔥
Yea it has been significantly upgraded, instead of the noise that you hear on the HI's its much more tame and clear when it comes to the mid and bass. You have a jewel in your hand and cant wait to hear what you come up with.
Great video!!! I hope to see a lot more Rossum SP1200 content in the future.
Sounds fire 🔥. Been waiting on this post. Thanks cookinsoul.
Audífonos, volumen al máximo y un trago . . . . Grande Cookinsoul !!!
That snare is cracking!!!! 🤯Love it! Dope as usual. Peace
Thank you so much OMG SWEET VIDEO, awesome music, and very informative and funny as well:) Much love, I am Eagerly waiting my unit hahah! You and Rossum Electro both rule, hope you are happy amd healthy and thanks for making this high quality video!

Hey bro just want to thank you for ur music. Just recently had it recomended to me on youtube and instantly moved to spotify. Now im bumpin ur beats every day in my car. Que bien te quedó la base . Buen sonido 🙌
Question: Why would you want HipHop to sound any other way? The beauty about boom-bap is that whether it’s jazz or rock influenced, the percussion takes centre stage, whilst all other instruments compliment and enhance the audio creation that you are witnessing.

this sounds absolutely delicious. i wish i still had all the time in the world to create more music inspired by stuff like this..
THE master of soundz alwayz choose perfect samples from true sounds really love it
Yo the beat making videos are dope. Keep doin that
They picked the right one to review this machine. Great video!
i love that sound!
This is raw 🔥🔥 absolutely love it bro!
had one back in the day, gotta have it. beat you made with it was dope too.
Great video. Tell me this please. If I just have all sounds in master does it still automatically have the different filters on kicks, hats and snares? That's was one of my fave things with my sp12. Also, does having things on the same channels cut the other sounds automatically? This was another one of my fave features. Wondering if that's all still there. Thank you
Love the drip cookin soul 🔥🔥🔥
That hiroshi suzuki record though! “Romance” is my fav. Cheers man
Superb instrumental 🔥🤜🏾
Thank you for doing a comparison video!
You got it rocking straight away🔥
love it! The machine is dope
Thank you for making this video.
Suena genial😍😍😍
i love this channel so much.
I hope this encourages a new generation of kids who aren't afraid to create a new sound again. This video reminded me of the early days of KZread and being able to find new cats making beat videos using all kinds of samplers. MPC's, ASR's, etc..

Thank you for doing this video => It is great & the beat ❤🔥 My Dave Rossum finally came and i can honestly say it is incredible It feels better than my original sp1200 I have no regrets selling my original sp1200 which i had from brand new. The price point to me is good considering the build quality and believe me it will last for at least 30 years, so divide that 3k over years months weeks For me tho the best thing about the sp1200 series is the actual fun it is using them, the layout, the ease of use, it all just feels great. With that being said, different strokes for different folks just enjoy and kill it Thanks again for the video - )
Thanks for sharing, this is badass
Great!! 👏👏💥 I need an SP-1200... 😮
Awesome video! That Lupin the 3rd record though!!! :) (I used to sample from the VSH tapes back than, those OST's are 🔥)

Does this over heat like the originals do? I hear it has a better cooling system but would like to make sure.
@RossumElectroMusic
2 жыл бұрын
No, the SP-1200 reissue does not heat up noticeably like a classic vintage instrument. You can comfortably touch any part of the case, for example to reach over the back to adjust the filter sliders. All of the vents have been removed as they are no longer necessary. Also, the power brick uses a locking XLR-style connector that won't come loose during a performance.
