@Siberian Snake lmao. A butthurt russian. It is unknown if a javelin woukd totally defeat an abrams. They now have TUSK II Depleted uranium armor and it is classified info of the thickness and if a javelin could defeat it. What is known, and has been done about 100 times in the last few weeks, is a t72 cannot survive a javelin. Hopefully you russians will send some of those new t14 tanks so we can test them out hahahaha.

@@alexskrynnyk5418 леопарды с самого начала контротступа были уязвимы против птрк 1 и 2 поколения) а т72? из-за низкого силуэта и маленького размера в него попасть сложнее чем в леопард или абрамс. Украина уже давно юзает т55 из стран варшавского договора, в рф и используют как сау или же танк-камикадзе. Точно так же как и т62м. В россии более 12 тысяч танков т72 а уничтожили всего 1000-1500 от силы так что запасы еще полны.

В отличии от т64, т72 Урал 1972 года, не имел комбинированной брони в башне, что снижало ее стойкость от кумулятивных и бронебойных снарядов на +-50мм, что довольно таки значительно и давало возможность западным боеприпасам пробить его броню башни. Также т72 не имел систему управления огнем, которая была на т64, небыло баллистических поправочников, всю информацию нужно было вводить наводчику вручную, что усложняло обучение персонала, а также возможности танка в бою, как минимум точность огня и скорость подготовки выстрела у т64 были намного лучше. Так же отсутствие управляемой дистанционно зенитной пулеметной установки, думаю не нужно объяснять что она даёт командиру танка. Также различные ухудшения конструкции танка. Худшие гусеницы, проходимость, ремонтопригодность, сама компоновка мест экипажа влияла в негативную сторону на удобство во время эксплуатации танка. Также более уязвим к минам автомат заряжания, который был менее скорострельный. И так до самого конца СССР т72 последним получал самые передовые инженерные новшества. Например устройство управляемого вооружения, т72 получил только на версии Б 84го года, когда т80б и т64б оснащались им с второй половины 70х, примерно на 6-8 лет раньше. Также лазерные дальномеры, баллистические вычислители и поправочники он получал тоже позднее всех. Сам смысл создания т72, это оптимизировать т64 для массового производства, а занять без ухудшения более сложных узлов и агрегатов здесь не обойтись.

Those bad boys would roll over NATO. The Soviets knew how to build tanks and use them. It wasn't the best but good enough. Nothing too complicated to build in large numbers.

Ведь небыли в начале у СССР своих танко,закупали,копировали, и посмотрите какая школа танкостроения выросла,лучшая в мире,СССР нет уже,а все ,что тогда создавалось по сей день пользуется спросом так как лучшее и надёжное. Contrary to popular belief back in its T72 was an absolute monster of the tank. The only western tank that could challenge it was the chieftain mk10 firing APFDS. I Remember reading somewhere that the Soviets would have the t64 and t72 tanks at the fulda gap in case they met the chieftains since it was the most powerful tank in NATO for the longest time

Thx friend for this wonderful footage. It became one of my favourites. The T-72 with Leopard A1 were the best tanks of the 70's. Even during the 80's this machine was absolutlely redoubtable -Lebanon 1982 against the Merkava -. In a fair combat it would be interresting to see this machine against the M1 Abrams. It seems during phase line bullet's battle number of T-72 were disabled, however....many M1 Abrams were destroyed too. Wonderful tank.

Soviet tanks were created for TANK TROOPS The US remained on the concept of TANK SUPPORT FOR THE MURDER these are completely different approaches to design and requirements for technology and training of personnel

Russian tanks are designed to be pumped out as cannon fodder and western tanks are designed to be indestructible

I pity the M60 and Leopard 1 tank crews who were tasked with fighting these in case of war.

If the T-72s (especially the more heavily armored T-72As) had decided to come through the Fulda gap, the M60s and Leopard 1s would have been massacred, as the T-72s were generally frontally immune to their 105mm APDS rounds. while their 2A46/2A46-1 125mm guns could plow through the M60s and Leopard 1s at ~1800 meters.

This is why the NATO used the 120mm later, they could know out T-72s from 1800m. And T-72s couldkill Leo2s from 1500m. So if they would have pushed, it would have been ugly.

@@Le_Robban TO be fair, the T-72s were meant for exporting. The T-64 was still the main tank of the USSR until the T-80 arrived. The only good T-72 is and was the T-72BM.

Marko Hrastinski t-90ms can AT LEAST hold its own against abrams challenger and leopard. next gens though may be tough for it. however they have thier next gen already out. meaning her teething problems will be solved by the time the west makes thier new vehicles.

@@KaiserHabsburg When Soviets had T72 Americans had M60 which was laging behind T72 a lot. Then Soviets introduced T80 which was light years away from M60 and better than M1 Abrams. Then US brought M1a1 and Russians gave T80U and UD ... until 1991 Soviets were infront of west. Then Russians lagged in 90s and 2000s, then came back with T90MS and T14

@@KaiserHabsburg T-90MS is export verison, contract for series of original T-90M which has only bit better armor and firecontrol system than Vladimir, was signed by russian army head quarters only in 2019. Armata is still a parade tank

I wish you guys knew just how tiny these things are on the inside. I'm 5'6" and have a 34" waist and man is it a tight squeeze. There's plenty of elbowroom, but the sights in the gunner's station are right in your face as soon as you sit down. Great engine though. Starts every time with little effort.

80ки по маневренности да,а 64 ка что движок замудренный не надёжный и ходовка хлипковата,а броня такая же и автомат заряжания не надёжен по сравнению с механизмом заряжания 72ки.

Ninwildkat I know that it might be a figure of speech, but nonetheless, this tank was not unbeatable. This fact was proven when American M1 Abrams tanks and British Challenger tanks took Syrian T-72s down during the Gulf War.

Ну так а что ему будет.Сейчас оставшиеся до стандарта Т90 модернизируют,стволы,моторы,электронику меняют.Только Шторы не будет на нем.

Танк можно модернизировать добавить брони поставить мотор по мощнее поставить комплекс арена поставить более мощный зенитке пулемёт и ПРУТР и т.д.

Башню поменяют, комбинированный бронепакет влд могут поменять, поставят дз реликт, пушку 2а46-м5 и доработанный автомат, новое суо, панорамный пнк, двигатель на 1130л/с, автоматическую КПП и вуаля т90м, у них то тележки с т72б~т90а одинаковые

When comparing М1А1, М1А2 and Т72, Т80, Т90, do not forget that Abrams is a HEAVY tank, and Т72, Т80, Т90 is a MEDIUM tank. Different weight categories, but for some reason they are compared. The first heavy modern tank in the USSR was "Object 490", very tenacious, but too expensive to manufacture, and the heavy tank that was released into series is the T14

No they are both MBTs. Weight is not the only Thing what makes a heavy Tank. A MBT has other duties to do than a heavy Tank lol. Dont play to much wot it's bs.
