Is this the 43101.. if it is , please assist with where I can get cylinder head gasket set. I'm in Botswana and I have this exact same truck with the non turbo v8. If I may say, I've had the beautiful opportunity to drive both Kamaz and Kraz trucks in the proper proper offroad in desert and the Mighty Okavango Delta here in Botswana. These trucks are serious beasts. But I will always choose my Kamaz 43101 any day

What's your opinion on Kamaz trucks compared to other soviet ones, ZiL and Ural or Kraz, and the Gaz 66? My favorite ever has to be the Ural 4320.

KamAZ trucks are considered the second echelon (for cargo transportation in the rear of the army). I like the acoustic performance of ZiL-131 for example, in an empty tunnel.

ok, can you explain nowadays why some parts of russian army use URAL-4320 or maybe 375, and other part fully use kamaz 6x6? is there a funding problem or just a choice? Also, do you know what inspired the kamaz trucks originally? Look like typical european cab over engine design. Maybe it's pure coincidence?

Only just a choice, only Request For Proposals (RFP). KamAZ trucks were built on the basis of the ZiL-170 prototype truck family. The Soviet government had intended that the Future ZiL-170 Truck System will be the basis for the creation of a new truck manufacturer, and it was realized. ZiL and KamAZ: kzread.info/dash/bejne/d4yhm6ukhNzOo84.html There is a version, design of a Soviet truck is derived from the Canadian International COF-220 truck.

UralAZ also uses the IVECO Turbostar Cab for their cab over engine designs. This must stem from their long time cooperation (they also produced a modernized version of the aircooled Magirus-Deutz Baubulle used for the BAM with Gazprom called the IVECO-UralAZ 330-30 ANW in the wild 90ies which sadly wasn't as good as the old Magirus-Deutz trucks) that ended some time ago.

Если сейчас кто-то "запоёт"про Дакар, сразу учтите , что КамАЗы,те что чемпионы ралли имеют от КАМАЗа только внешний вид и шильдик КАМАЗа.
