Sovereign Election: God’s Loving Choice - The Doctrines of Grace in John with Steven Lawson

Far from being a cold and unfeeling doctrine, the biblical truth of sovereign election displays the unfathomable grace of God. In this message, Steven Lawson unpacks this humbling and glorious reality, showing how the doctrine of election expresses the fullness of God’s love for sinful, undeserving people.

He really doesn’t believe the Bible to be honest. People regard him as a great expositor. But he really doesn’t fully believe the Bible. He regards certain doctrines, as greater than what the word is trying to tell us. Not only that, but he has been polluting the minds of many . When you really listen to what he saying, in comparison, to what scripture is trying to say, they do not correlate.

But unless you repent, you too will all perish. 4 Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them-do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, no! Allen if your idea of sovereignty were true God would not be God. Your comment shows a misunderstanding of this doctrine. That’s not the Sovereignty taught by the doctrines of grace. Steve teaches the Sovereignty taught in Genesis 50:19-20. God works through our sinful freewill choices for his glory. If we had autonomous freewill, we would have power he didn’t and that sounds laughable even typing that.🤦‍♀️ Read the last chapters of Job and tell me that THAT God is at the mercy of our freewill choices. If so, he is waiting to see what our decision will be and that means he’s learning and that is a different God, not the Omniscient one taught in scripture.

  • @allenmorgan4309

@@Savedbygrace22 my point is that we don't have freewill that God is ultimately the only one that has ever did anything or made any decision in the ultimate sense. You got it backwards. We never made any decisions in and of ourselves it is all God's choice. Realizing God is ultimate reality is the truth that sets a person free because self is an illusion and doesn't actually exist. God/Christ is the truth itself and we don't exist in and of ourselves we are just dust and bones. Our life isn't our own.

There was also in that town a widow who kept coming to him and saying, ‘Give me a judgment against the man who is trying to ruin me.’ For a long time he refused; but after awhile, he said to himself, ‘I don’t fear God, and I don’t respect other people; but because this widow is such a nudnik, I will see to it that she gets justice - otherwise, she’ll keep coming and pestering me till she wears me out!’” Then the Lord commented, “Notice what this corrupt judge says. 7 Now won’t God grant justice to his chosen people who cry out to him day and night? Without a godly influence, man left to himself will follow that system, which gratifies the totally depraved nature of unbelievers and deepens their moral darkness (cf. Matt. 13:19). I just can't understand. Maybe I'm slow, or maybe I'm just not one of the elect. Beyond anything anyone can do, all are damned because of Adam's fall. If God is all sovereign, did He will Adam to fall? In other words, did God create Adam for the express purpose of damning all Adam's descendents? Did God create mankind with the will that all become totally depraved? Did God from before creation elect which of those totally depraved persons he would, without any condition, elect? So did God abritarily, capriciously, summarily decide through His Sovereignity before he created humans which wretches would live and which would go to the gas chmber and oven. And those hapless, hopeless automatons who survive the holocaust, are they then reqired by God through his irresistable power to praise Him for creating a world that He willed to fall even before he created it, in fact, created it specifically to fall and created humanity specifically to be damned, but also made provision to save those He elected over and against their total depravity? Is this the gospel?

No, you miss the, " no one can". So how do we reconcile " who ever will may come, with no one can come? N o one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him, and I will raise him up on the last day.- John 6:44. So is everyone drawn to Jesus? No. Because this is a salvation passage and we know not everyone is saved. Let me also add 1 Corinthians 2:14, John 6:37. Jesus also said I do not pray for the world, but for those you have given Me out of the world. Jesus also said for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that who ever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. So , how do we reconcile all this? Well those who ever will may come are the elect, those that have been drawn by the Father. Also God so loved the world, with Jesus saying, I don't pray for the world. Here we have God choosing a specific number of people ( I don't pray for the world, but those you have given Me out of the world). With for God so loved the world ( the context of " world" is not every single person without exception, but mankind in general. ). Context is critical. Words have different meanings depending on the context they are used In.

Sad to say most churches teach the I Will of Lucifer in the corporate churches it is by man's own will not of God. This they have a man made gospel Satan has done his job well sad to say.

Paul, He has lots of videos about this, check utube. Guess he’s been hiding in plain sight. Maybe he’s preaching it because it’s scriptural. Just sayin🤷‍♀️ I thought only God could damn something. I hear lots of unbelievers use language like that but none in my church or Christian friends would curse like that. Ephesians 5:4 brother.

The Natural world living things are a catalyst, that the Creator of Life uses to interact with the human souls on the planet earth. Human beings, Created in the image of YHWH, have an intellect, conscience, imagination, will, memory and emotions. Healthy human beings have an autonomous free will, ability to sit down, to stand up, and to walk according to the schedule that they have set for their voluntary Q.T . To meditate on the Jewish Holy Scriptures, and the existence of YHWH in 2023. Did YHWH only exist in the days of Abraham, Josef, Moses and King David? Or is the transcendent YHWH of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob still alive and well in 2023? That is the greatest mystery that human beings have encountered on the planet earth, and each individual person, needs to discover their own journey of faith, according to the instructions given in the Torah and the Yeshua Good News gospel.

Cheery picking verses out of context. Election and predestination are biblical, but their Calvinistic interpretation is so disconnected and dishonoring to the character of Gad.

God’s Sovereign Election is conditioned by ELOHIM’s foreknowledge. The Lord Jesus Christ foreknew what a sinner’s voluntary choice whether that sinner will choose him or reject him. The Lord Jesus Christ respects every sinner’s voluntary decision. God’s election is not arbitrary. He is always merciful & just. (Acts 15:18). A sinner is elected because The Lord Jesus Christ has foreknown of that created humankind person’s voluntary decision/choice to believe into God the Son, Jesus Christ or to reject him. A sinner’s decision determines his/her final destiny/destination. (John 3:16; 3:3-8; 1:10-11,12-13). What is the effectiveness of God’s free gift if it’s not accepted? God the Father’s giving us to the Son to believe into Him is always through the intervention/ mediation or Mediatory-intervening functions of God the Son. (John 14:6; 1 Tim 2:3-4,5-6). He cannot give us directly to the Son because God the Father is always invisible to createdkinds, always in secret, unapproachable; indirectly audible & unknowable to the world. There’s no direct communication between God the Father & God the SON’s creation. It’s always from, on. In, through, with, to and for God the Son, Jesus Christ. (Col. 1:15; John 14:6,9-11; Heb. 1:3; Matt. 6:6-18; 1 Timothy 6:16; John 1:18; 5:37; 6:46).

Those versus he read in john 1 do not say that God elects some to salvation and not others. Says they were born not of the will of man, but of God and then the next verse says and the word became flesh and dwelt among us. So that is obviosly talking about Jesus. So Its Gods plan to save through Jesus his son. To make that passage try to teach God choosing certain individuals for salvation is a strech to say the least. Please when you are listening to a hypercalvinist like this take the time to go read the entire chapter to get context. Lawson and others like him are constantly trying to force thier theory into the text.

Actually, there are many more Christians in Asia & Africa than in America, so HE forgot no one....HE does throw the sin of HIS loved ones into the "Sea of Forgetfulness" but, that is more like a pardon, but HE forgets nothing & every person "will account for every idle word" 😳.....even those that pretend HE is not real 🥴
