Join me as I head to Southport Pleasureland to check out their summer 2020 offering at the park. This year the park have introduced a pay one price wristband system that allows unlimited rides on all of the different attractions at the park. In this vlog I check out all of the different rides on offer at Southport Pleasureland along with sharing on ride POV's. I also check out the social distancing measures in place throughout the park, take a look at a new roller coaster under construction and much more!

One of the biggest things I respect about your vlogs is that your enthusiasm is the same whatever park you’re in, whether it’s one of the massive Disney Parks in the States or a smaller seaside-type UK park such as this vlog.

I feel this park has a good future ahead of it as one of Britain’s small hidden theme park gems, like Lightwater Valley and Pleasurewood hills. If they can get a big coaster, maybe a Vekoma Boomerang or a Zierer Tivoli, then they could be much more of a great park.

I spent my whole childhood and teen years at this park although it looks very different now! Some great rides like the traumatizer, cyclone, chaos and wild cat! Must have rode them thousands of times! The fun house was my favourite, got many a friction burn from the spinning wheel! Brilliant vlog and very nostalgic for me! Thanks Shaun!

In the very late 90's I worked at the Southport Pleasureland. First as maintenance before the season started, and then in one of the ice cream kiosks. My location was directly right next to the old Cylone Rollercoaster which incidently was the first adult coaster I went on when I was a little boy.

Seeing this vlog has inspired me to book a mini break to Southport in April when theme parks can open again. Visited as a child maybe 20ish years ago. Great job informing and showing people how COVID measures are being carried out in the different theme parks in the UK- this definitely helps lessening anxiety about visiting these types of attractions in these challenging and uncertain times

This is my local park! They’ve slowly been building it up since it reopened in 2007 and have been adding a few permanent rides where they always were a travelling fair. The owner keeps saying the big aim is to get a signature rollercoaster like Traumatizer was back in the day to put the place back on the map. One thing that keeps letting this place down is inconsistency- rides keep closing down and moving on mid season.
@garrywalker4548

I think their current plan is to build an indoor park and a hotel. Not sure about coasters currently but they want to get something that can be used in both wet and dry weather. As for rides moving, from what i know they only own a few of the rides there while travelling showmen fill in the blanks, so thats why all of the rides keep moving around.

It’s a shame that the original park closed
I think all the rides at the park this year are fully owned by the park. The rides that were meant to be new this year (now 2021, mini mega and Camelot ferris wheel) are fully the parks to. I think the area last year with the 'crash test' and pirate ship were rented, but it looks like there getting away from renting rides from showmen now. It's a positive move forward!

There’s still a few rides owned by other showmen but not as many!
Wow I haven’t been to this park since early 2000’s when it was owned by Blackpool pleasure beach. I used to love Cyclone, trauma tizer (it was smoother before it was painted blue, transported to Blackpool and renamed infusion), River Caves, king Solomon’s Mines. There was a strange mini ‘Hex’ type of ride too.

Great video Shawn, loving the support you are showing the smaller UK park right now 👍👍, My first job was here in 1996 and I used to be in charge of the fun house that houses the ghost train now and operated various other rides too. I love what Norman Wallis has done with the park since BPB closed it , it looks so fresh, definitely a work in progress still, but they are heading in the right direction. 👌🎡🎢🎠

Good that Southport is open for business - strange that Carousel Horses are outside the park and extra charge ( as I think there is another Caroussel ride at the pier). Hope they add more thrill rides to the park like Pirate Ship, Drop Town, Big Wheel, boat journey ride and long term a few rollercoasters. See that there are few stalls for food and For the white building (post covid) could put in two dark rides like 4D/5d cinema, small river ride, maybe maybe a small Arthur Rollercoaster ride around and inside the White Building

Thank you for watching!
While you have been to your usual UK theme parks, me and my friend did our French Mega Coaster trip. This time, day 6, this time, we visited Futuroscope. The amusement park is sometimes called 'the Epcot of Europe' and focuses - as the name suggests - on all kinds of futuristic matters. Today we went to discover what the park had to offer. So I will write you, shawn, about my day and I want to let you know what I think about the park: Without having researched much about the park beforehand, we started our day in Futuroscope around noon. The park was open today until no less than 11 pm. So we had plenty of time to visit the park at a leisurely pace. Once we were inside the park immediately gave a very good impression. Everything looked very nice and well maintained and the green department also does a very good job here. The first attractions we encounter are on our right in the themed area Futuropolis, the children's zone of the park. Here you can find, among other things, flying bicycles, a small free-fall tower and a large water playground, where we look for refreshment given the warm temperatures. In addition, there are also some attractions of Sunkid Heege , including a Nautic Jet, Luna Loop and a Sunkid Butterfly named Balancier . As coaster entusiates, we had to have done the latter, of course, so we pulled up for a ride. Futuroscope focuses on everything that has to do with the future. As a result, some technical gadgets immediately stand out. For example, the park works with digital signposts that change direction. Information boards are also often interactive. In addition, there is of course WiFi throughout the park and the app works perfectly. Moreover, you can charge your phone in various places using, for example, wind energy. It is also noticeable that there are various futuristic-looking buildings throughout the park. The first thing we entered was 'L'Arena Fun Xperiences', where you can find slides, interactive games and more. Next to the large, striking indoor hall is l'Aérobar, a watchtower where you can also have a drink. However, we continue our tour through the park towards our main destination: Objectif Mars, the park's new roller coaster. When we got there, however, it turned out to be faulty, so we entered Arthur, l'Aventure 4D, which is in the building next door. Unfortunately, it was soon announced that the attraction had to do with a minor technical malfunction. We waited patiently and that was rewarded, because not much later we could still take a seat in the attraction. After we were taken to another floor by elevator. By the way, we had our reservations about this in corona times. Mouth masks may be mandatory, but it doesn't seem like a good idea to stuff as many people as possible into a small elevator. The attraction itself is a simulator I knew from Phantasialand, where it ran until a few years ago under the name Race For Atlantis. However, this one suited me a lot better, When we got out of the attraction, we saw Objectif Mars doing test drives. After only five minutes of patience, the attraction opened and we could also test it . The ride starts with a short dark ride, which has some very nice surprise effects. This is followed by two launches, each followed by a not very long stretch of roller coaster. Yet it is not disappointing, because the launches are great fun and the cornering afterwards is more intense than expected. If you think the ride is over, there will be another very nice effect that we will not reveal. Do not expect the most intense rollercoaster, but a very nice family coaster that fits perfectly in this park thanks to the unique and well-executed theme. We walk further through the park towards the next major attraction. The park has a large watchtower located in this corner of the park. However, due to the high temperature, the attraction is closed. The next attraction we encounter is 'Sébastien Loeb Racing Xperience', which unfortunately was also closed. A reason was not stated. The next building we passed, which houses 'Les Mystères du Kube', also remained closed. A very unfortunate thing as we wanted to try out the attractions. Moreover, the many closures were not mentioned anywhere on the website or at the entrance. Fortunately, we found another attraction that was open. Chocs Cosmiques is a film about space travel, set in a large spherical dome. If you are interested in space travel this is definitely a recommended attraction. I did enjoy the wonderfully soft and comfortable seats. Before moving on to the next attraction, we decided to have something to eat. On this side of the park we find some slightly smaller attractions, which are fairly new to the park. There is a splash battle, a jet ski and trampolines above the water. Our next attraction, however, was none of these family attractions, but a dark ride that a few other Theme Park entusiates who visited the park before were wildly enthusiastic. La Machine à Voyager dans le Temps is the name of the dark ride that revolves around crazy rabbits that take over the world in different areas with the help of a time machine. The madness already starts in the very well-themed and hilarious queue. Then you take a seat on the very strikingly designed vehicle that transports you through the attraction. The attraction mainly works with screens, which seamlessly transition into physical theming. No interactivity this time, but watch, enjoy and above all laugh, because this is without a doubt the most hilarious dark ride I have ever experienced. La Vienne Dynamique was the next attraction we decided to visit. Without having any idea what the attraction entails, we joined the short queue of the impressive building with a large waterfall. Inside we sat down and watched video images and a water spectacle, with which beautiful things were done. However, we did not understand much of it and were therefore happy that doors opened afterwards and the real attraction had yet to begin. The next room again consisted of chairs that moved in pairs. It was a bit of a cross between a 4D movie and a simulator, although undoubtedly the most intense I've ever done. I don't know at all what the film was about. I thought it was pretty strange and couldn't make much of it. Although the attraction was certainly fun to do because of its intensity. One of the attractions I was looking forward to the most was L'Extraordinaire Voyage, the park's flying theater. As a huge fan of Voletarium in Europa-Park I was happy to finally be able to do a second one. The queue was not long, although we still had to go through three pre-shows before we entered the attraction. Again, we were pushed into very small spaces with as many people as possible, making the park anything but corona proof. This was my biggest annoyance in Futuroscope throughout the day. Hopefully they will revise the situation, because this shouldn't really be allowed. The attraction itself did not disappoint me. He can't match the great level of Voletarium for me, but L'Extraordinaire Voyage is still one of the highlights in the park for me. The day was drawing to a close and after a quick look at the park plan, there was one more attraction we definitely wanted to do. Danse avec les Robots is a crazy attraction that we know from the Legoland parks, among others. We had to be patient for a ride, because there was a queue of about half an hour. Then you can board in pairs and you have to choose a program. There are three options that vary in intensity. As true Theme Park entusiates, we naturally chose the most intense program, and we did not regret it in the slighdest. We still had just under an hour to do attractions, and we would like to take one or more rides on the Objectif Mars roller coaster. We quickly go to the attraction, although it soon turns out that it is malfunctioning again. Fortunately, the malfunction was resolved fairly quickly and thanks to the presence of a single riders line we were able to get on the roller coaster quickly. It is not clearly signposted but if you tell the staff member at the entrance that you are alone they will be happy to point the way. Incidentally, it is strange that they use this queue in corona times. While I wanted to make a few more rides on Objectif Mars, my friend decided to join the show 'Dans les Yeux de Thomas Pesquet'. In the end it turned out to be nothing more than a movie about space travel on an IMAX screen. Glad I opted for a few rides Objectif Mars, although it was over and out after two times. The roller coaster malfunctioned again and I was told it would no longer open today. It turns out that the attraction is extremely susceptible to failure due to its technical gadgets. If you would like to do it, better make sure that they are there quickly. After a long day, my and my friend left the park with mixed feelings. Futuroscope is a very special park that we actually knew little about. You have to visit it with the right expectations, because you will hardly find large roller coasters or thrill rides, but a lot of cinemas and simulators. And to be honest, most fans don't get that excited. Yet the more recent investments are often masterpieces. Attractions such as Objectif Mars, L'Extraordinaire Voyage and La Machine à Voyager dans le Temps left a very good impression. The park is also highly recommended for anyone who loves technology or space travel. I think the park still needs to sort out a few policy issues, such as the large number of closed attractions or the corona measures.Compagnie des Alpes has very nice plans for this park, because there is much more potential in it than is being realized now. Apart from a few setbacks, of course we had a fantastic day and this is certainly a park that I will recommend to any amusement park fan to visit, because 'the Epcot of Europe' is truly unique.
