OneVoice412 that's a part of their style. They go hard when the music is loud and when the band softens the music they soften their moves. Every dancing doll line has practiced that style.

This is a beautiful danceline!!! The captain's personality is captivating. Even though the band kept stopping and going (due to SWAC regulations), they handled it well.... Love it!!! The Southern University Dancing Dolls are America's First HBCU Danceline!!!!

Oh dearest little simpleton, I think you meant to use a "period" behind the parenthesized word "structure" and NOT a "comma" ; especially since the letter "T'' in "Thanks" is capitalized. So what superior education system taught you THAT? A monkey could've EASILY comprehended my message...even the likes of you. But nevertheless, you got my point. Everybody from back in the day will always know the Dolls by their original name..."The Southern Belles". The name they acquired much later under Greggs was already taken by another group that converted from twirling to dancing. So at THAT point S.U'S Dolls were not the 1st. The problem is YOU DON'T KNOW SHIT lol. Why don't you call Greggs and ask him yourself. Oh I'm sorry sweetie...you can't. I can assure you he knows who the other set of Dancin Dolls were at that time. But its a pity YOU don't. So I'll just reiterate what I stated before...Southern University's Southern Belles/Dancin Dolls were NOT the 1st HBCU dance line. akapam57 hold up sis...it aIN'T that EASY, so sorry u didn't attend an HBCU, u missed the best part of Being Black, but check out the jaysettes entering CCC, go to jsu entering ccc 2013, girl-l-l your mind might scramble and u won't know who is actually best between these 2 battling Diva troupes it is 2 different styles,with Jaysettes holding down traditional step, welcome to the HBCU world, it is an AWESOME family.

+akapam57 Yeah, even though the SU Dancing Dolls is my favorite, I like the entertaining quality of the JSU Prancing Jsettes, the Alabama State Stingettes, and the NC A&T Golden Delight.

I really love the captain she seems very ladylike and well mannered pretty smile southern women are so graceful

April that sit down at the very beginning! I keep replaying it. Tail at heart.

They are truly dolls and could teach the rest of hbcu dance teams the meaning of class vs. trash.

OMG! They are FREAKING ANGELS! They look so classic and regal. They are the definition of Ladies.

Arguably one of the cleanest teams they've had. They interpreted the counts the same and gave a very uniform look.

This was the year of the dolls! They were my absolute favorite of all dance lines this year! I so loved April as Captain…Good Job Ladies!!!

AAAAAPPPRRIIIIIILLLL!!! That solo sit ripple was on point!

This is one of the greatest dolls groups of all time and seeing them together again at the Dolls 50th Anniversary made me soooooo happy - I was just shook🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍

I miss this squad so much!! This is when the Dolls had that glamour about them and the fieldshows this year were everything!! Can we please get ms.Jeanne back next season?

So graceful, elegant and sassy..I love it!! I love this unique style and they own it..jsettes will always be my fav but no doubt the dolls are a force..a rather classy force, but still a force to be reckoned with.

I agree with u, the Jsettes are also my favorite,, but this dance really highlight, illiustrate how a great force the Dolls are for the Jsettes to reckon with, they walk that thin line well btwn classy sass and vulgarity, a real challenge in today's artistic market.

Its just so hard to remain fierce while your moves are gentle. Its like an oxymoron. But no team has been able to successfully do it but the dolls IMO. But by no means do I think that they are better because they don't buck. Bucking is still a style. I don't look at it as trashy or slutty. People seem to forget that that syle has african origins, its closer to our roots. Instead we let society tell us we are selling sex and our bodies..Nonsense.

Jaz D Wow!! not only do I also agree with this statement , it is the first time I've heard anyone (other than myself) make that obvious African connection!! It is particularly prevalent in Pledge Lines..

This band is playing the hell out of Whiskey! Add the awesome dancing from the Dolls and the whole affair is frikin entertaining as hell. Can't help but groove to the music. Damn!
