As someone who uses this exact route at least once a week I would never recommend first class on this train it’s basically standard but with curtains and a light the leg room and layout in standard is the exact same and the seats aren’t much different first class usually is pretty empty tho so that’s the only bonus I see

Years ago back when piggies were used on the route, you'd just about always get someone eating fish & chips on the train as there used to be a fish & chip shop right next to Weymouth station

Window blinds in First Class? If they have to be raised or lowered in the vertical plane they are definitely blinds, but if they open and close horizontally then they are curtains! You might have mentioned the very steep climb - much of it graded at 1:50 - which takes the South-Western Main Line from sea level at Weymouth to the top of the Ridgeway at Bincombe Tunnel!

I would like to visit Weymouth one day. Never been to Weymouth. I have been on the Class 444 Desiro and they are very nice trains built by Siemens.

There are still a few visitor attractions in Weymouth, including the mid-Victorian Nothe Fort, but it's a shame that the track used by the Channel Islands Boat Train to traverse Custom House Quay was lifted some eighteen months ago!

Nope, they were built in Siemens' Vienna plant, and tested at Wildenrath in Germany.
