The thing about the Super Sweet 16 episode is that Trey and Matt Parker called that show "One of the most evil shows they ever watched". It goes down as one of my favorites.

The episode is great. And the upshot is physical media will never die. It may not be as popular as it was a decade or so ago, but plenty of people still buy Blu-Rays and 4K Blu-Rays.

Streaming is here to stay but it keeps getting worse in a lot of ways. I'm holding onto my physical media until I die, it can't be edited or taken away.

Characters referring to Cartman's Halloween costume as "oh look it's Bruce Villanch" will never not make me laugh

There used to be a Block Busters in my town; now it's a liquor store. So I guess my Block Buster is also haunted by spirits.

This is one of my favorite episodes of South Park. The Shiniing parody, people treating iPad Stan like he's actually there, it even got me referring to horror movies as "spooky movies", even though it's not used as much as I remember. I also want to mention the Gravity Falls episode "Summerween", which isn't actually on Halloween, but may as well be, but the writers are only limited to this one summer vacation.

Love DVDs

Two of my favorite things are AVGN and South Park, all in one video.

South park is still great for the most part. Their latest goes in hard in disney and its pretty funny.

I love its always sunny...I've literally probably watched every episode 3 or 4 times..and south park has been killing it for years...soooo funny!!

Cummon Man.. There is some genius in those Tegrity Farm episodes. I'm sure James buddy John would get it. 🚬

Can James please acknowledge he has seen the face swap segments. No human being could approve those.

I know doing stuff like this is a lot of work. But it would be very cool to see you do something similar to this for Christmas. Another great Monster Madness in the books!

That was one of my favorite episodes. Also, I've never seen The Shining, but its impact is so widely felt that even I caught the reference right away

I think the comparison of dvd/Blu-ray’s to records & cassettes is very accurate. I don’t think physical media will ever completely die, but just turn more into a collector enthusiast market, with limited print runs becoming more and more common for the die hard fans of movies (and so the studios can still hold onto distribution rights)

South Park into the Panderverse was an excellent return to form. Also surprised James hasn’t reviewed any South Park games…the latest ones are outstanding, but the old N64/PSX games could warrant an AVGN episode

Give another chance to South Park. It eventually moved away from Tegridy Farm and during one of the special, they pretty much admit that they pushed it too far and turned it into a ''one note, overwrite part of the show'' . Great episode James. Wish you a fun Halloween for you and your family.

Now they're doing some...parallel universe thing? I saw an advert for a universal special where all the boys were various versions of grown women.

@@nutjobification They "moved away from it" by going back to it constantly to remind you that they're aware of how overused it is by not ending it, so that they can keep going back to remind you that they know it's being overused. It's just an example of dumb meta non-humor that makes up a lot of the "jokes" on shows like Family guy these days. People eat that kinda nonsense up, for some asinine reason.

It’s not just tegridy farms, tegridy farms is just one particularly egregious example of them turning a weak gag into an entire story arc that outstays its welcome, I felt the same with all the PC principle stuff. It just wasn’t that funny. It’s like they can’t do single self contained stories any more.

@@fromryuk7785 James Rolfe does have a point. The show does favor Randy Marsh so much to the point where Randy Marsh is basically a main character in South Park nowadays during in the newer seasons.

I still buy physical media. Streaming is convenient but at the mercy of being taken down at any moment without notice.

Gotta love AVGN, still kicking it since the early KZread days putting out awesome content, while the other OG KZreadrs are quite literally falling apart. Keep em coming.

The Tegridy plot slowed down and died off after the Covid Special, it's gotten much better.

Great choice for the final episode. this is a great Halloween episode.

AVGN needs to re-invent himself. He's been soldiering on so long, but the diminishing returns must be epic by now.

I can't believe how much your videos, and specifically monster madness, have become Halloween nostalgia for me. I've been here pretty much since you started doing it and still watch to this day. Thank you for all the hard work and memories.

If you ever do it again, I highly reccomend checking out Ultraman Tiga's "On the Night of Halloween". Its one that truly has a lot of fun with the setting

I think you should do a Cinemassacre Holiday Series videos. Like Maybe a few Valentines (maybe not just throwing it out there) but the others like Thanksgiving and Christmas I think would be fun to see you talk about them. You could even do horror Christmas movies or TV shows. Just an idea. I sure do love me some Monster Madness series. Keep up the work.

Don't worry, Physical media is important. Then we don't get weird edited versions of everything. It's a serious problem that makes physical copies necessary, despite the _exponentially_ more convenient streaming option.

I feel the same, psysical media is dissappearing and we should charish what we have, ill stream if its convienent, but if I cant find a certain movie on streaming, ill order a DVD/BD of the movie I want to watch and watch them on my PS4.

Next year you should review every horror oriented animated series in monster madness

I always buy physical copies of stuff I really like just cause you never know when something on some website might be taken down or altered. I definitely watch more youtube than actual DVD's but I have a ton of them and have no plans of ever getting rid of them.
