This might be one of my favorite vlogs you’ve ever done. You had me smiling the whole time! My family stayed at SOB once when I was an older teenager (so maybe almost 20 years ago) and I still remember the experience! Stale donuts in the check in space; remote control bolted to the nightstand. I just loved this. Thanks Nate!

I hope they fix South of the Border up. This was my Grandma's favorite place to visit when she went home to visit. I miss her so much. Thanks for being so positive about this place!!! I hope I get to visit one day.

Watching all your videos I'm always amazed at how chill Gracie is. The fact you can have her outside off the leash and have your room door hanging wide open and she just hangs out. My dogs try to bolt out the door and take off running like we are holding them prisoner against their will! I could never let them outside without a leash.. lol

Nate. Great video. I travel your route to my home in PA as well. I’m coming from Savannah GA. Depending on where in PA you are going, I take I 64 west in Richmond to I 81 and take I81 north all the way up to the Pine Grove exit. Way better, relaxing ride rather than going through DC metro area. Safe travels.

Man, having just moved to Orlando from Syracuse at the end of 2022, I can appreciate this road trip. I also have to echo your love for South of the Border. It may be a cheap and dilapidated tourist trap, but damn it, it's my cheap and dilapidated tourist trap.

Your time lapses turned out great! I think you should do more travel videos. This one was so fun to watch! I hope your holiday is amazing! 💖

Nate...just wanted to say thank you for this video. My family just lost our family Golden Retriever Chief yesterday suddenly and I think we are all still in shock. I appreciate the time you are spending with Gracie, your relationship reminds me of what ours was with Chief and this video just helped me feel some form of comfort for a few minutes. This goes without saying but continue to enjoy every minute you get together, and keep being you my friend. Have a great trip with your family and Happy Holidays!

We’ve always had cats, but gotta say dogs are amazing. Was in a lovely shop today, a cute dog came in with her people, and she was freaking out, no one knew why. Until it turned out there was a dog treat drawer behind the counter. Turns out she’d been there once before, a long time ago. Cute, and very smart.

South of the Border is definitely a staple if you’re driving down the coast. That’s our landmark when traveling to FL. It’s cool to see what it actually looks like to stay there.

Just stayed there last month!! Didn't see any cats, thankfully. Apparently, they take days off from tourist mooching! lol. It's a tradition for myself too! I love this place also! For the run down old tourist trap it is! Everything you said is spot on.

Used to stay there every year beading to spring break..Classic spot, the shops, food.....loved it!!! Never any issues!! Simple place!!!!

You know, Nate… This was pretty normal roadside lodging for decades. They’re bare bones. Usually they are little worn down. But, millions of people have stayed in them over the last 60-50 years. They are not as nice as some of the high end properties you’ve been privy to over the last few years, but they get the job done. We stayed in this type motel all the time as a kid growing up in the 70’s and 80’s. I even stayed in them with my wife and kids through the 90’s and early 2000’s. In some small towns… this is all there is.

Wow this unlocked a childhood memory! From Wv and we used to drive thru Pedro and I hadn’t thought of this in 20 yrs. Thanks Nate great memory😊

Nate, you are a brave soul staying at South of the Border! Back in the late 90’s my now late husband and I ended up staying there because he didn’t book a hotel room as he promised. With exhaustion setting in, we stopped. I was not pleased then. The room we had was in a late 50’s early 60’s A-frame style. As a joke he got a “honeymoon room “🤦🏼‍♀️. It had a king bed with what looked liked a big carpeted packman over the bed. There was a TV and mirrors in that “thing”. I slept, clothes on, with my head at the foot of the bed as the carpeted thing was creepy and gross. Sigh. We have enjoyed your 12 Days till Christmas Vlogs! Such fun getting to know you even more. Happy Birthday! 🎉 You deserve all the blessings coming your way, from the KZread channel to RSVLTS and more. Hugs to your Mom, Bonnie and Ariel along with Gracie of course. Gracie is the best! Nate, please make sure you check everything for bed bugs! That hotel looks like it could have them. Even the best hotels can get them but I would hate to see you bring them to your mom’s house. I live about an hour from South Of The Border. I like going down to Buc-ee's in Florence, SC then on the way home I stop by and check out the gift shops. It's so sad that you rarely see more than a few cars at a time there.

This was honestly one of my favorite videos you ever did…I loved the tour of the hotel room! Reminds me of the guy who did those videos of the dirtiest hotel rooms. I think he also did the dead mall series. Nate this was 😊really fun to watch.

As a kid my family traveled to Florida many times in the 1950's. South of the Border was a 20 X 20' shack on the north side of rt # 301. They sold cold drinks and fireworks. As you were inside, kids came around from the back and placed a South of the Border sticker on your bumper.

I love this place. First time I was there was 1972. Stayed there several times in the 80's and 90's. Just stopped there again this past Sept. They used to have good restaurants and even had casinos for a while. Also stayed there with my 2 kids AND my Dalmation. (named Dice) Post office is gone.
