South Mountain Park & Preserve - Travel Guide | Phoenix, Arizona

Within the foothills of Phoenix you will find tranquility traversing the cactus-lined mountainside, as well as numerous scenic pull-offs along this route. We decided to make one last pitstop in Arizona before traveling to the airport. This park features the popular “Dobbins Lookout” at the summit, which is a unique stone structure perched at the top of the mountain. Several scenic hikes stem from this portion of the park and offer distant views of downtown Phoenix. At 2,330 feet, is the highest point in the park that is available to the public. Accessed by both hiking trails and Summit Rd., the lookout is popular with tourists and locals, who want to get an unobstructed panoramic view of the Valley.
At more than 16,000 acres, South Mountain Park/Preserve is one of the largest municipally managed parks in the nation and consists of three mountain ranges. The park boasts more than 100 miles of trails for hiking, horseback riding and mountain biking. Additionally, the roadways throughout the park are a favorite for bicyclists. Sit back and enjoy the final video from our February excursion.
Thank you all for tuning into this amazing series across beautiful Arizona. I will be back in the future to explore more of Sedona and the rest of this iconic state.

Thank you all for watching my incredible journey from this iconic state! It may take 30 minutes to process in 4K. I will see you in just a couple weeks when I begin a NEW journey to Idaho (exploring new terrain from my trip in November).
