    I literally just spent Tuesday night at South Bald rock by myself too! I did a loop from Bald Rock Creek over Mt Norman then past Stone Cottage and Middle Bald Rock. The next day I returned via the northern route following the creek and then turning west to the creek trail and Underground Creek and Dr Robert's Waterhole. That second day was reaaalllllyyyy nice walking!

    from south bald rock bush camp did you just follow recourse creek the entire way up till you rejoined the track at underground creek?

  • @AaronGrayOutdoors

    @@adam_hikes if you follow the fire trails north to north-west then you should join Mt Norman Road near Billy Goat Hill, then just a little further North you can head out towards Junction Creek.

    I used the Dan Durston X-Mid 2P on this one. It’s a polyester type material. ~1kg from memory.

    Thanks! Unfortunately I didn’t record the route however South Bald Rock is fairly easy to navigate too, just following the fire trails. I hope that helps 👍

    @@AaronGrayOutdoors How did you find the fire trails? Are they on the nat park map or a topo map or something? Do you normally have to plan your own route to get to these remote bush camps or is there normally some kind of trail?

  • @AaronGrayOutdoors

    @AaronGrayOutdoors

    @@Noah-Murphy The fire trails out to South Bald Rock are on both the national park maps and topo maps (including the topo apps for your phone - Gaia for etc). You shouldn't have any navigational difficulties getting out there. It all depends where I am going; some places I camp are entirely off track and therefore I need to plan the route before hand. Thanks!

    @@AaronGrayOutdoors Ah nice ok that makes it easy. Yeah I'm just starting to use Gaia now - just got back from Mt Barney, attempted to join Upper Portals track to Midget Ridge, following the creek along, but can be hard to tell how easy the terrain will be to get through using topo/satellite until you actually get there - was really slow going rock hopping along and the banks were too steep to go around. What parks have you done some good off-trail stuff in SEQ? Girraween and Springbrook have been the only ones I've done where there hasn't been too much undergrowth to allow walking

    How do you get to the amphitheatre?

  • @AaronGrayOutdoors

    @AaronGrayOutdoors

    2 жыл бұрын

    The amphitheatre is the open room directly below the shark tooth. The only access is through the cave under SBR. It’s too difficult to explain the route, nor would a gps assist so will require some exploration to find.
