There's nothing low-key about it. Everything we black folks do originated in tribal Africa. Song, dance, chants, cadences, braids, beads, tattoos, style, rhythm, even weave/wigs. All of those things are ancient. Why do we think we invented everything??? This ain't new...just thought you knew!

Please keep in mind that this is a dance troops interpretation of the traditional dances. Meaning that the dancers even though they are South African have had other dance styles influences. This is a much more polished and choreographed look on the traditional native ways. Yes the ability to move naturally to the beat of that African drum is inherently in our DNA. This is an amazing performance, don’t get me wrong. And even watching a more traditional performance you can still see the connection between black Greek organizations and traditional African dance. The step show moves are still there but not as exaggerated. kzread.info/dash/bejne/aZWdzMSxkcqWpJs.html

Beauty from any culture is meant for all to enjoy, appreciate, honor, and respect its roots. Please don't feel ostracized by the conversation, learning and beauty are for everyone. Right now, the world needs more appreciation, love, and personal growth on everyone's part. Never apologize for your culture or skin color. God loves us all equally. History can not be changed, simply learned from. When we learn better, we do better. I am naturally drawn to African dance even though I've never been to Africa (one of my life long goals), which is amazing in it's self. I agree, the dance is simply amazing AND All cultures have something beautiful to share, the two concepts can co-exist!

@@thandie67 true sister. As if Zulu is not South African. He strikes me as somebody who thinks in South Africa other tribes don't have their equivalents. Only Zulu hence he had to correct the Kenyan guy 😂. As a South African you know better. My suggestion to him is to stand up and save his dying cultural stuff. I can pick up that he's not happy with the European one replacing theirs. Then don't fold arms but do something about it. Harvest as much as you know, remember and can pull out from the elders. Remember you got a responsibility to transfer that culture to your kids just like you got it from your parents. Don't allow your kids to be cultureless because they won't know who they are or were in the past. Whatever you've managed to gather then document it and revive cultural events. The department of arts and culture should be able to fund your efforts. Good luck. Much love from South Africa 🇿🇦

No one can vocally harmonize like the people of Africa. You can't say one part is the main vocal when all parts are just as strong. They are all main vocals. Looking at the dance, you can clearly see where choreographers get their ideas and inspiration from. Love the dances in tight formations.
