Jono, do you have a P.O. box or address that we could send stuff to you? I have some current Texas maps and travel guides I think y'all would like to look at to maybe plan ahead of y'alls visit to our great state. If y'all are going to be here for three months, you can definately go to many of the places on the video. Dallas and Ft. Worth are only 30 minutes from each other, same for Houston and Galveston. San Antonio is about an hour away from Austin which is in the Hill Country. Don't bother going to El Paso, it's too far with not much to see or do. I live in the D/FW area and would be able to do a meet up and take you to a lot of things you have said you want to do. Bass Pro Shop, Buc-ee's, Walmarts, BBQ restaurants, hunting, fishing, etc. are all within of hour of me and I'm 55 and retired, so I have plenty of time to kill. Lol

I moved to a suburb of Huston from the state of Washington about a year ago with my daughters family. One thing you need to keep in mind, and I know you have heard and seen this in the videos you have seen. Texas is huge and if you were to rent an RV or camper to vist different places in Texas you would be driving a lot. I would recommend you check out Google Maps to determine distances between places you wish to visit in Texas. You might want to check for RV parks where you can rent a parking spot with hookups for your rental. I don't want to discourage you from seeing sites you wish to visit, and I don't want you to be disappointed with your visit to the US. Let me just say that three months might give you enough time to spend a day or two maybe even three at the places you would like to visit. Most of your time will be spent driving to the different locations. I can't emphasize enough the word "BIG". You will need to plan your RV trips so you will be able to spend some time at the different locations and enjoy the experience rather than spending hours or days driving to different locations. Wishing you and your family the best and I hope a wonderful experience and vist to the USA.

It gets hot in Texas during our summer, June, July, and August. I highly suggest visiting Texas in October through May if you do not wish to melt outside. The stockyards Coliseum in Ft. Worth has a rodeo almost every weekend and the home of Billy Bob, a huge honky tonk. NASA’s home in Houston is a must see if you are interested in space. The Riverwalk in San Antonio is a must see, especially during the Christmas season with additional lights. Best to visit Dallas during the three week State Fair in late September and early October. South Padre Island is a favorite spring break location for college kids. Bluebonnets exist everywhere in Texas during April and May, just not the hill country. Austin is okay, but the only tourist attraction is the State Capital, full of politicians and lawyers, very dull. But it does host a F1 race, if you are into racing. I agree renting a motor home is a great way to tour Texas. There are Recreation Vehicle (RV) parks in almost every county, near State and National Parks. With a limit of three months, unless seeing wild Blueberries is high on your wish list, late September, October, November, and early December would be my choice months (12 weeks). Start in DFW and then drive southward as winter approaches to avoid the cold.

New Braunfels is a family oriented city. Located between Austin and San Antonio. Austin is very expensive and not what it used to be. There is not much for kids. Ideal for twenty something. You can fly into Austin but drive to New Braunfels/Canyon Lake area. The Guadalupe River runs through both and is so much fun. Schlitterbaun is an amazing water park. If you fly into Austin, you're right around a lot of the great BBQ spots. Remember that everything in Texas is so spread out, so you definitely have to pick your trip well in terms of where you go. I used to travel around the state for work and drove everywhere while I was in my 20s and early 30s and could have the patience for longer trips that I've made before. It was nice to see and great to see all of the regions as they transition (East Texas/Piney Woods compared to West and the Valley and the Coast and even the Panhandle not to mention the I-35 corridor and all in between). Fort Worth is great and you can string together a Dallas/Ft. Worth straight shot from Austin and the surrounding areas to see some of the bigger cities. Not a huge Houston fan in terms of coming to visit from overseas - struggles even worse than Dallas does with a lack of any specific identity that you really feel.

Three months is a good visit. Choose your time of year. March through May would be very good. You could start your tour in the southern parts of the state where the weather is warmer and then move North. It doesn't get very hot until June, but you can find very warm conditions even in Spring in places like Houston, Corpus Christi and Galveston. Also suggest you take a look at the Texas State Parks system. We have some awesome natural features you would enjoy. Big Bend is a National Park and there are several ways to enjoy the Rio Grande River in and near the park. The Hill Country as the video states is home to all kinds of outdoor activities. People love to tube down the rivers and visit some of the historic old towns. The cities as you point out are generally clean, but they are still big cities with all the pros and cons that go with that. San Antonio is unique with some of the country's oldest structures in the old Spanish Missions, one of which you have heard of, The Alamo. The Gulf Coast is long and the water quality improves as you go South. South Padre Island and National Seashore are beautiful. The water around Galveston is generally brown from the sediment of the rivers emptying into the Gulf of Mexico. And don't forget about the multitude of culinary experiences.

Not saying there aren't sharks, as there certainly are, but most folks swim with no problems. Lived here all my life. Galveston has a lot more to offer than just being a beach town.

Happy Birthday Jono🎉🎉🎉 Actually, both San Antonio and Austin are in the edge of the Hill Country. Austin is an excellent choice to fly into, as it’s central to much of what you just watched. The vid was a bit “city-centric”. With the exception of El Paso and Palo Duro (possibly Big Bend) everything else is an easy days drive. Corpus Christi with adjoining Arkansas Pass is less than 150 miles from Austin for your “ Sea fix”. Lol Unfortunately, at the present time, anything along the Mexican Border (or lack thereof) is too dangerous to visit. The Hill Country is a HUGE area to the west of Austin, with lots of open spaces…”Urban sprawl” is a problem close to any large city, but there are many super nice State Highways throughout. While it can be hot in Texas at any time, July and August are the hottest…whenever you choose you will be welcome!!!

I was born in Dallas. Here are some of the things I've seen that are pretty cool. In Austin, the nightly flight of the Mexican Free Tailed bats. If you haven't seen a million bats fly out from under a bridge you're missing out. Inner Space Caverns is an amazing natural cave system that shouldn't be missed. For fishing, Lake Fork in East Texas or Lake Ray Roberts in North Texas. It's best to hire a guide. For nature, Davie Crockett National Forest. Stop and read the historical markers. There's some very brutal history in that area. The River Walk is very nice at sundown and the boat tour guides were very funny. Just a few suggestions. I know yall will have a great time.

Because of weird and violent people that have swamped the city, the Antifa and BLM political violence, most Texans are not going to soon forget innocent people dragged from their cars by political radicals most of whom are not even from Texas. Austin may regain its reputation before Portland does but not anytime real soon.

My uncle just retired from being the head fire marshall of the state capital building and governors mansion in Austin. I always loved visiting him at work. The capital building is a must see, especially inside where you can look up to the dome from the bottom floor! The Texas state capital building is larger than the US capital in Washington DC. Also if you can get to Houston, there's the downtown tunnels that are air conditioned and run under the buldings downtown and has stores to shop at and places to get food, all the museums, NASA, bayous, hermann park, and much more.

San Antonio, my home town, is also very nice and just down the road (about and hour and a half away). On the way from Austin to San Antonio, you can stop at the most famous Buck-ees gas station in the US. Not, like, it’s famous because it’s Buck-ees, but it’s actually the most famous location of them all! It’s really no different from the others, maybe a bit bigger, but it’s great so be sure to stop for some nuggets.

In my life I have had 17 mares and about 23 foals. I tell you now that horses are like potato chips, you can never have just one. When in Texas be careful swimming in rivers, lakes and ponds as alligators sometimes are found in them especially in southeast Texas from Houston to the Big Thicket area. I have encountered many while on the Trinity River. They usually are as afraid of you as you are them except there is always the exception to the rule. San Antonio is beautiful. The River Walk is very trelaxing. Their zoo is wonderful. And, the Alamo is so... inspiring. I know you will love it but please don't visit during the height of summer. If you want to do a 90 day RV trip around Texas just remember that while fuel is cheaper in the US than Europe it will still cost you a lot of money. A standard RV has a 55 gallon (208 litre) fuel tank which will get you around 6-10mpg (10-16km). Average gasoline cost (today) in Texas is about $3.39 so a full tank will cost you $186. Average diesel (today) is about $4/gallon. You also have to factor in food and paying for RV parking/camping. Its is an absolutely fantastic way for a family to travel around if you calculate costs and plan your route and the amount of time you want to stay in an area. Some people would say add bicycles to the RV but the average American isn't bike friendly and many places are not designed with bikes and cars in mind. Renting a compact car to tow with the RV might be an option. There are many services that will put a complete package together for you to do an extended RV trip and might be worth looking into.

That was a very basic overview of what to do in Texas. As far as the outdoors go the Hill Country and South Padre Island are on the top of my list. Big Bend is beautiful but it's a looooong haul from anywhere. From Houston to Big Bend is a good 7 hour drive. The Alamo is really cool especially if you know the history behind it,I'm sure you've heard the phrase "Remember the Alamo" that refers to when the mexican army and Santa Anna the mexican general attacked the Alamo and slaughtered everyone there. Remember the Alamo was the war cry when the Texans beat Santa Anna in the battle of San Jacinto in 1836. The Texans were lead by Sam Houston which of course is where Houston got its name. The statue you saw of the guy on a horse is Sam Houston.

That "old building" was the state capitol building, built in 1888 and paid for by the state selling some investors from Britain in exchange for 3 million acres of ranch land in the Texas Panhandle. It is taller than the US Capitol building. It is so pretty from all sides and when we outgrew the building, they went underground blasting limestone down 4 stories, and the lowest 2 stories is a car garage. As for oceans, I never lived anywhere near the ocean, and in my opinion everything in there either stings or bites. I tell people that when my ancient ancestors crawled out of the ocean, we kept going until we were as far from the ocean as we could get.

I’m San Antonian and we are a very world famous tourist city. The main attractions we are known for, but not limited to are, of course, the Alamo, the Riverwalk, which many other American cities have tried to duplicate, but the one I really like to point out is the Tower of the Americas, or just the Tower as we call it. I have yet to see ANY KZread travelers even acknowledge it, much less go up. It’s really one of the coolest things you can do downtown and it’s impossible to miss because it’s the highest structure in the city! Glass elevator ride on the outside of the column, best view of the city hands down day or night, a bar, a slowly revolving restaurant and an open air 360 degree observation deck that you can walk around on! Try to pick the best weather for it. I personally guarantee it will be a big highlight of your trip to our great state! It’s very, very cool, but amazingly invisible. I still can’t get over it! Ha Ha! 🤷‍♂️ Oh, one more thing I like to recommend for foreigners to do while here, as you probably already know, we are a HUGE gun state and have ranges and gun stores EVERYWHERE! You walk in, buy some range time, rent a gun and have some fun! Don’t worry if you’re new, we’ll teach you everything you need to know! Highly recommend you do this! It wouldn’t be TEXAS if you don’t shoot! A lot of people visiting, this might be the only time they ever shoot in their lives! It’s mandatory. It’s TEXAS.

Native San Antonian here! Best reasons for visiting San Antonio, is that there are two theme parks located here ..... SeaWorld of San Antonio and Six Flags Fiesta Texas. The Mission Trail is a walking/driving route that meanders to the Southeast of the city, and takes visitors to all of the old Franciscan Missions that were built along the frontier, including the Alamo. San Antonio is also located at the very Southeastern edge of the Hill Country ..... Another of the locations featured in the video. Texas beaches at Corpus Christi, are a mere two hours away. Leave early in the morning, come back late in the evening, and you could make a whole day of it. Times to visit the San Antonio area? ..... Big national rodeos (San Antonio and Houston) are in February. Small town rodeos, mostly Spring, Autumn and Winter. County Fairs are mostly in the Autumn, though there are a few in the Spring. City Festivals are usually around harvest time (Spring/Autumn) ..... The Luling Watermelon Thump, the Seguin Pecan Festival, the Floresville Peanut Festival, the Poteet Strawberry Festival, Gruene (Pronounced "Green") Market Days, are but a few of them.

Just make sure if you're going to be visiting multiple cities in TX that you are aware and prepared for a LONG drive. A lot of people don't realize the slogan, "everything is bigger in TX," literally applies. Between Dallas, San Antonio, Houston, and Austin, there are at least 3.5 to 4.5 hour drives between one to the other, and Austin to El Paso is a 9 hour drive. Also its been insanely hot here, 40C-42C like everyday, so bring hats, sun screen, fans, and wear the least amount of clothing you can legally wear + bring a sweater because they've cranked the a/c up in every building to inside of a blast chiller levels.
