Coloured people.. That died out in the late sixties in the West. It's OK to be black or mixed race brother.

It doesnt have the same connotation as in America. If you called someone mixed race in SA they would probably be offended by that, also black people are just called black, colored is a different term than in America

Tristen Crone. In America he would be called black e.g Barack Obama .. In the UK he would be called mixed or bi racial..but seen as a black person e.g Lewis Hamilton. The point is to call himself 'coloured' sounds like he's denying he's black. It alludes to a racial caste system where the lighter you are the better. The root of it is the same as in the West.. Which is racist white supremicism.
