This magnificent model of 3049 - City of Johannesburg paid us a visit on March 6th for some "shake down" trials on our track.
It performed superbly as you can see. The original general purpose locomotives were built to run on South Africa's 3ft 6In gauge tracks.
A full sized example can be seen in Glasgow City Museum in which city a number of the class were built by the North British Locomotive Company.
