P.S: since you're now officially my friend in my head, I'll be inviting you to my wedding when I marry my Igbo King 😄🥰💓.

The problem is that nobody will ever understand SAs, we are frank, transparent and very friendly. We even share about our stories in a public transport. Sometimes you will find someone talking with a phone in a public transport, and when that person is done talking the person sitting next to him/her will not mind asking questions about what you were discussing on the phone if may be there is anything they find interesting in the conversation that you had😂😂 that is us. South African people talk in public places with strangers and talk as if they have known you for years😅 We are peculiar people we are so care free, unfortunately we are misunderstood by our own African countries because of the upbringing. That is why we joke about everything because we are not a serious country. Well we will try to learn as we are now having a lot of our African brothers and sisters coming into this country😂😂😂 We call our country a movie country because we so busy producing contents everyday, we joke about serious problems of this country to take the stress away, that is why we do not like to travel or migrate we love our country and different contents we create for our own fun. We sing and dance about every problem and laugh it and move on. We mind our own Bussiness 😂😂😂 Shout out to Mzansi People❤😂

We African Americans are familiar, we have the same response, we laugh and joke, even about things that others may think of as serious. I would love to come to SA. Love from America.

That's how we deal with our problems and learn how to deal with them. One day I was taking my meds in a taxi and someone asked me if am ok. We ended up talking for the whole trip. After that me and you are family. Next time I see you I am going to ask you about how you are doing and how is your family. That's some form of networking. Next time my company had a vacancy and I know your sister is looking for a job, now I put a word in and already she is my sister.
As South Africans, we have no filter!
Because most South Africans don't travel much. It's only natural for us to be so inquisitive 😅 but it's all in good spirit

Most South Africans dont travel much? why do you guys believe this belittling notion and going around with it? most South Africans don't migrate a lot but when it comes to travelling, we are the biggest travellers in Africa simply because we have the largest middle class.

Offended ...yes .... because of culture differences...but after living in south africa we happen to understand and accept it as part the norm.. i am from the congo and i thought it was only my impression. its just cultural difference ..not much. but it feels weird ...like personal space invasion.

South African we are frank we are direct and don't beat about the bush and it is all in good intention to get to know u.. we. Are an open society and surely it is a normal thing here .
I get what she's saying, but South Africans don't do this. She might have met few individuals who do this, but those individuals don't represent all South Africans, keep that mind.
Lol that last point is our answer to the most asked question from other African people with regards to us not traveling. At my big age I'm still discovering new gems about this country & I've been here my whole life. 😭😍🇿🇦
It's NOT all of us. I'm South African but I respect people and need to be respected as well. The intrusiveness is a No-no. We're not all the same. I also hate it when people generalize. Just NO! Don't do that.

You can't just avoid all those
The things we learn everyday about other countries; Kenya also has a very robust doemstic tourism culture, we travel within the country and there is beautiful places to visit just within
She's not really lying about the first point😄, as South Africans we can be very inquisitive however on the same end South Africans are over sharers so they will also openly tell you about their lives even if you didn't ask. The personal questions that they are asking are usually the same information they would volunteer for free 😂😂

The issue on boundaries is so true. Unfortunately for SAns they're trying to be friendly especially in your case they're your classmates that means they've accepted you as one of them. But those questions wont be asked someone they just met in the street. But because they were going to spend a year or tears with you theyll ask you such questions so that you too can ask them about theirs even if you don't they can tell you about their love life. Usually we refer to those type of people as "Bayaphapha" or "Bayaspeeda abanamaBriki" the forward ones who dont have a filter who just shoot from the hip, in most cases its in their nature. We too have learned early on how to deal with them. But they're everywhere nje in our families, Communities, schools, churches, in public spaces ie taxis and ja they're there and we've gotten used to them that we don't see anything odd about it until you highlighted it.

I like this type of content so I subbed to her a while back, but I still don't understand her first point...Last time I checked we be minding our own business as South Africans😄
Majority of what she's talking about is very common to Nigerian guys to ask girls.
I'm one of her subs. Great points.
We mind our own business.

I agree. My people will ask you very intrusive questions. Even men who may be interested in you will ask you deep questions at the get go. I am South African and I also have that experience with my people. Too inquisitive
We are just being friendly. To us we are trying to get to know you and learn from you. We are interested in your background and we love when you ask back.
That is I can't find myself talking to Nigerians

15:09 you got me crackin up bro...lol😅
Some people think as long as you accept to be their friend their is no boundaries
I grew up in South Africa and live in Saudi Arabia…. I just kept marveling at who are these people cos they live like they came out of Kwa-Zulu. Needless to say I’ve been here for 13 years now and it’s like being in KZN!!
That's why they call South Africa rainbow 🌈 national
We are very open and honest and we are genuinely curious and we care, hence the strange questions. If you answer it short and cold then we know that you're not interested in being friends or that you have something to hide. If you answer it honestly and openly then we know we can trust you. Why would you be ashamed or shy to speak your mind on having/not having kids/ planning to have kids later or never? We respect whatever your answer is..but why would you not want to answer such a basic human question.
Hayi bo we are trying to be friendly sinje
I totally agree with her, one should have boundaries, not everyone ask you those type of questions with good motives. On the other hand though, like you said, we ask to know early what type of person you are so that we eliminate the element of surprise🤭🤭🤭
You're a decent brother in promoting and encouraging other channels bro
We jokes about each others religion and nationality in the office. Its normal to have a hindu guy come in on a monday morning quoting a bible verse just to spark a debate and we laugh about it
"She glew" 😂😅
Bro you need to come to South Africa on Vacation. Come during USA winter time. The seasons are opposite.
Bro just listen to your fellow American's experience of South Africans.
Shes mostly talking about people in Jo'burg or Gauteng province. Most people will xan a joburg experience a South African experience.
No remember history they want to find out if u are worth there time. If u lie for no reason if u full of sh%t or about what u say u are. They are a giving people and why waste your time on someone trying to use u for what ever reason. The people of South Africa understand there value and that they are fighters of whats right.

Well it's not like we're disrespectful, however the level of acceptance we give is that of family, like if I see you as a brother, I'll ask you questions a brother would ask. ::: Especially if You're from another country, we're always interested to know what we can learn from you. However self expression is acceptable.
