South Africa - Travel Tips and Hotspots in Mpumalanga | KRUGER PARK & BLYDE RIVER CANYON
Together with my wife we explored the Province of Mpumalanga for 1 week. We concentrated mainly on Safari in the world famous Kruger National Park and the Landscapes in and around the Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve. In this video I’m going to show you some of my favourite spots and give you some tips to make the most out of your experience.

Please stay away from south Africa we don't need more Indian and Pakistani shops here you guys are to much and every where.
Mpumalanga and the Western Cape have the most beautiful landscapes in the country. I grew up in the Karoo and my mind was blown when I visited both provinces for the first time. Absolutely stunning...Great visuals by the way, the video was incredibly cinematic.

My goodness I loved being at marry veil falls my my that place is awesome amazing scenery , so beautiful, I loved mac mac aswell but they should make it more accessible to get down there coz the fenced in platform does not live up to the beauty down there. God's window is pretty much typical but beautiful rain forest. Three roundevels is also looking good but much more nicer in summer

I'm hoping to do a trip to Cape Town in the near future and have been looking at potential safari options and it's come down to a toss up between Victoria and Chobe, and THIS. I hadn't considered Kruger before, because the airport is so far from the hotels, but after comparing both, I've also noticed that parks and safaris in South Africa are much cheaper than in other African countries. I just don't like that they charge foreigners, much higher rates then locals, but they are still fairly cheap compared to national parks in other African countries. I even found a full day 5 star private safari in Kruger for under $200, which is practically unheard of, elsewhere in Africa. I see why South Africa is the number 1 destination on the continent.
@TheMegaMatt

Hey, hope you get to do a cool Safari 😃 Yes I know it seems strange, but I think it's fair that locals have to pay less. The land is used for conservation purposes and very often local communities don't benefit enough from these protected areas. They should at least be able to afford a visit to these areas to see the beauty of nature and the protected areas. With your visit you contribute directly to the conservation of these areas. I always tell myself when this conservation fees are hight, that they are at least for a good purpose 😅

Hi Video is great, how did you manage the fly the drone where they banned the drone...Blyde river canon and pothholes... please looking for response.
@TheMegaMatt
3 жыл бұрын
Hi, glad you like the video. At the time I made the shots, drones were not allowed in national parks. Blyde river canyon however is not a national park, it's a nature reserve. I checked to see if the regulations have changed since and didn't find a clear answer. Some websites say, No-Fly-Zones include national parks and protected/conservation areas. Other sites however still just mention national parks. Other Sources say the restriction is only in San Parks. So I'm not sure if you can still fly your drone there. You might have to call them, see when you're there or contact the SACAA in advance: www.caa.co.za/Pages/RPAS/Remotely%20Piloted%20Aircraft%20Systems.aspx
My mom worked in the KNP for about 10 years but for SANPARKS 19 in total I lived in skuskuza, but I dont have many good memories there
Kruger national park is the best come to south Africa and get the full experience ❤

Very impressive. What is the best months to visit Kruger?
@TheMegaMatt
Жыл бұрын
Hi, all seasons are beautiful in their own way. Winters are very dry with cooler nights and better visibility due to less leaves on bushes and animals are more concentrated around the remaining waterbodies. Summers are lush and green but also rainy with lots of baby animals. I would recommend checking the climate table and just choosing a month that suits your liking: weather-and-climate.com/average-monthly-Rainfall-Temperature-Sunshine,skukuza-mpumalanga-za,South-Africa
5:05 Hi, how did you get permission to make those nice 'drone video's' in the National Parks? I have read that flying a drone in the National Parks isnot alowed. I like the video, and I am going to visit South Africa next week😊.Kind regards, Martin
@TheMegaMatt
8 ай бұрын
Hey Martin, the drone shots were all made outside of National Parks on neighboring farms where I got permission. The shots from Blyde River Canyon I was lucky with my timing, I got them just before drones were banned. Enjoy your trip!
Hey Mega, I am heading to South Africa end of Sep, just curious about the drone shooting in your video. Is that legal to fly freely in the natural place in PANORAMA ROUTE and Garden Route? Do you need apply any permission in advance? I also find its not ok to fly in Kruger anymore, is that true?
@TheMegaMatt
10 ай бұрын
Hey Zhe, by now droning in all these places is no longer permitted. I was lucky to do it, when there where still no regulations in place. In Kruger it has never been allowed. On the Garden Route it should be fine at least in some areas. Check this link: uavcoach.com/drone-laws-in-south-africa/#:~:text=Drones%20weighing%20more%20than%207,all%20times%20while%20in%20flight.
