SA is such a rich country. How come it has gone down the hill so quickly? It got rid of Apartheid in 1994. 30 years ago. Plenty of time to build a better life. What happened?

@CosmopolitanCaliph Forgive me, but I disagree. After WW2 Europe was in ruins and Europe doesn't have even a quarter of natural resources SA has. I wouldn't say working class Europeans were educated those days. Nevertheless, Europe rebuilt itself again in 10 years.

@@CosmopolitanCaliph Your talking shite, SA after 94 should have become one of the most advanced nations on the planet. It could have been done in 10 years. There is no trauma and wealth has been distributed already into the pockets of the ANC and every corrupt person running the country. SA will collapse over the next 5 years. It is a failed state.

Their current problems are due to Colonialism and apartheid? Both of which ended many years ago? They are not due to the current - elected, non-colonial and non-apartheid - government? What a foolish and subjective analysis.

I love how this is explained like that. Meanwhile another country is just printing money constantly, racking up more and more deficits, and they have more and more homeless people by the day. The only advantage is that, that country has the reserve currency so they can continue to do so while that lasts. But easy to point the finger that South Africa, Argentina, Lebanon, etc etc are managing really badly

This video is so bad they have no clue what they are talking about. SA is not in the state it is because of inequality and colonialism or Apartheid. The opening 30seconds disproves that, unemployment and poverty doesn't all of a sudden shoot up from a low of 20% to 60%. Especially when there is affirmative action in the country. Apartheid has been over for 30 years and colonialism for way longer. People need to get their heads out there arses and actually stop the bullshit rhetoric when it comes to matters like this and blame the real people. The incompetent criminals that took over the country and now hold it hostage with the influence of their primitive tribal cultures. The ANC and every member from its founding was the worst thing to happen to the country. But I don't think anyone else would have done better to be honest. They are all crooks. The only reason SA is/was who knows anymore? The most advanced African nation was because of colonialism and Apartheid. Does that mean it was a good thing for the majority of the people? NO obviously not. But lets not kid ourselves when the ANC were handed the keys after 400 years of development and nation building by the "colonials" they were magically going to do better.

What do you expect the happen. You colonise people, you exclude them from all economic activities and exclude them from learning opportunities, and then only give them jobs as farmworkers, maids, gardeners and mineworkers. Not a single one is going to be some magically talented administrator afterwards. If the ANC was allowed to run small towns, or limited to be mayors, then they would have an idea of how to govern from an early period, and would've become capable leaders by freedom. You're merely reaping what you sowed.

this is a bogus explination devoid of all nuance first off, the boer population is suffering greatly secondly your supposed liberal pollicies don't seem to include racial quotas relative to the percentage of the population for everything, which mixed with corruption and loathing mean these boer people end up getting both all the blame for the past as well as getting no form of wellfare or even charity from most private or public organisations. south africa has a very rich anglo white population but even so it's mostly the elite of them and since they take up most of the quota in jobs and opportunities they are more than happy to allow this damned system to continue escom has been a mess since apartheid and in fact they have always relied on foreign power like from Gambia and now they essentially tried to aquire the congo dams but at least that exploitation has and will backfire for the foreseeable future as they get screwed as much as the congolese, it is to far away, congo lacks the technical maintenance personel and south africa is just as corrupt as they are colonialism never left but only 25% of that can be attributed to actions former collonizers have taken since their independence, especially when it comes to south africa. they had the strongest economy in all of Africa, even most of their black population had it relatively better in the 90s and even 80s. same is true for Belgian congo (not freestate congo under leopoldII, i am talking post 1908 when Leopold II was essentially forced to give it away (britain and france were obviously peeved that it didn't go to them after all their efforts to make it happen but at least Leo lost it.) if you want to explain why an economy is the way it is you need to go into detail, you need an intimate knowledge of every aspect that could affect the economy and you can't have any holy houses, ergo you can't dogmatically blame colonialism for everything despite it indeed having a lasting impact.
