Well music lovers, I have not posted for a while because I'm tired of people not reading the paragraph above. This horn had a (non repairable) split in the fiberglass all the way around the back side. The valve casings had been warped and the pistons were not removable. All four tuning slides were corroded in place. This horn had been sitting on a shelf in a high school band room for 4 years with a sign that read "Not repairable" i gave the band director 200 dollars in repair credit to fix horns that were worth fixing. Even with all that some will still think I'm a monster. I am anything but. All you immature babies should shut the f__k up.

I don't see what the issue was that this tuba wasn't usable. The old fiberglass sousaphone of a Carnaval band I used to play in had been put through some serious misery so many times... being trampled in busy cafes, cracked by smashing into door openings, getting picked up by a ton of drunk people to be blown in and dropped, being snowed under, and getting blown away by strong winds... After a week of playing from morning to evening every day, I went down with sanding paper, epoxy resin, and fiberglass and the thing was airtight again, structurally decent, well playing, fine-sounding, and ready to go another year. These are super resilient instruments, the one I used was just a cheap Selmer one, I can't imagine what someone has to do to make a Conn be too damaged to repair... Besides rolling over it with a steamroller...
